Amazon Customer: The item arrived fast. I am using it on a HP G7 that is about 7 years old. I am Running Windows 10. The Wireless card in the laptop went bad. This device seemed like an easy inexpensive alternative. I plugged it into a 2.0 USB port. The instructions and disk that came with it addressed Vista, 2000, Win7 but not 10. So nothing popped up when I plugged it in. I did hear the beep you hear when you plug something into the USB port. So I clicked on my browser, and it came up with NO INTERNET CONNECTION. So I ran the Network Diagnostic link that was on the screen. It came up with YOU DID NOT PICK A NETWORK , WOULD YOU LIKE TO PICK A NETWORK. I clicked YES. A box popped up with ALL AVAILABLE NETWORKS. I clicked on my network, put in the encryption key, and easy as that I was online. Good Strong fast signal. Have Browsed, Streamed and both. It works flawlessly. I would recommend.
Update, after using for a week or so, I decided to return the item, because it didn’t achieve the speeds anywhere near the claimed speeds. It worked well, just not at the speeds claimed.

Kate: Works great. I've been consistently getting 100mbps+ down while connected to my ac 1200 router. That is the maximum download speed that my internet service plan will allow. I get similar speeds when using a wired connection. I've owned this for almost a year.

Dmitri: The adapter works as advertised. It got auto-recognised by my Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet, added much needed AC W-Fi capability, and works great with any standard antenna. The reception got greatly improved compared to the built-in Wi-Fi, if you are far away from the router. I do not use the included antenna because of its size (would be good for a desktop but a bit cumbersome for a mobile device), but use my own antenna of a bit smaller size. The adapter is nicely built, very compact, and does not run hot. So far I have not noticed any performance degradation with time, but it should be noted that I use it for short durations only, albeit daily, and usually remove it from the tablet when unused to save the tablet's battery.

Stephen Cormier: Worked exactly like it is supposed to, download the driver, run it to install, reboot and use your new connection. Totally simple to do and so nice when the software works like it is supposed to, other times I have not been so well impressed. Oh on a macOS 10.13.6 install I needed to get better wireless so chose this device thinking it was cheap enough if it did not work no great loss. Nice to be surprised by a well working cheap product.

RickC: Got it to upgrade to AC from N. Getting solid 433mb on 5g, as opposed to 64 on n-2.4. That's on an old Gateway laptop running Linux mint 17.3 with a Core2 CPU. fed by a linksys 1900Ac. Came with drivers for windows, mac and Linux on CD. Had to compile the linux driver myself, but at least it was there, and it worked very well. Tested fine on windows and mac machines as well. Docked it one star because: 1. It advertises 600 mbps but it ACTUALLY is 433mbps max over 5g wifi. And because: 2. Poor qc on the included Linux install script which did not work, aborting because it assumed a tar compatible archive, when the goods are actually delivered in RAR. Once that was fixed, it compiled and linked and installed fine. Very good reception in a crowded urban area, thanks mostly to the antenna.

Evolution: Great adapter and very simple to install and use. Tighten antennae, plug it in, insert CD, install software, reboot, and done. This has worked flawlessly on mine and my daughter's computer after nothing but problems with our Netgear AC600 Wireless USB adapters.

Always been wired, for the speed, but now with faster WiFi, especially 5G, these work great. First I bought NetGear AC600 Wireless USB wireless Adapters for mine and my daughter's computers running Windows 10, which cost just over twice what this one cost. The reason I note this adapter specifically are the problems and ridiculous documented solution Netgear customer service told me to do.

The Netgear adapter was used on 2 different computers, at two different homes/locations (we moved), and on two different networks with two different types of routers (Spectrum and OneSource). Tried both standard WIFI and 5G. Computers were 10 to 20 feet from the WIFI router at both homes, and I have a EE degree and assure you there was no interfere. The problem was, every time we booted our computer, about 75% of the time the adapter would not work; sometimes saying it could not connect to the router...

Joshua: Overall this seems to work pretty well. I had to turn the antenna just right to get the best signal and it's not really as close to parallel to the router as I would have thought it would work best at (angled just a bit oddly.) It holds the angle very well though and I haven't had problems with it slipping. It has definitely produced a stronger signal for me even at 5GHz (which is harder for any of them I guess due to requiring more energy) than any other adapter I've tried recently, so that's a huge plus. Signal strength and link quality seem to be significantly better than even a huge adapter I replaced it with that supposedly had a more powerful radio, so I guess this one works pretty well. When I play games the connection is smooth and reliable (at least as long as my Internet connection itself is) and I have no problem with lag or drops. Transferring files through the network is fairly fast and I'm usually limited by the device I'm transferring to/from rather than this thing.

One thing I found moderately irritating is that the advertised dual link seems to not really be true. Perhaps it specifically requires a router that explicitly supports...
