Randa: I love these stair carpets and they work so well! They vacuum nicely and they are just simply easy! However, I made the mistakes of assuming if I threw them in the wash on gentle cycle they would be fine. Turns out after washing them they now stick to socks so no longer work. I went back and read the care instructions on Amazon (their are not any on the actual rugs) and it says not to wash them so it is my fault for not reading first! Hoping this can prevent others from making the same mistake!

Update: I ordered another set because I really liked them before I washed them. Right on the front of the Box of the new ones it says Washable and has care instructions that say to wash on gentle cycle. So now I hope I will be able to get a refund!

Danmaku: My childhood home has polished wooden stairs that are slippery. Moving back home, I brought my two dogs and they kept sliding and falling down them. I bought 10 of these (there's 12 stairs but the top two are massive cuz they twist) and my dogs go down the stairs super easily. It also makes them much quieter since their claws don't click as they run down them.
These do NOT come with adhesion despite what's listed so invest in some velcro tape or something sturdy so they don't slip and move.

Buttah49: They were of a nice quality and I would have gladly kept them except for the fact that the “Grey” Stripes were nothing like the photo and were more brown/beige with one of the “stripes” being somewhat grey.

These would have also have definitely required double sided tape as I just can’t see that the existing backing to be enough to prevent slipping.

I was going to return them but ended up giving to a friend who didn’t care about colours as it was just for basement.

Amazon Customer: Excellent - good quality, look and feel nice. Thoroughly recommended. We used spray on adhesive to make sure that they didn't slip.

While shopping for stair treads, I found a HUGE variety in price and attractiveness. I wanted something on the simple side that would stay in place and allow my geriatric pup more stability than going down bare wooden steps, which can sometimes be a bit slippery for my four legged friends. I read reviews for countless treads, and despite not paying attention to price as my determining factor, kept coming back to these. Some reviewers felt that the use of two-sided carpet tape helped these to adhere better - I purchased a roll of that just in case. It turns out I didn't need it at all.

These treads stick really well to my wooded stairs, and don't really budge. They've had quite a bit of traffic in the month that we've been using them, and not only do they do what they're intended to (provide a bit of cushion and an anti-slip surface), they're more attractive than I'd anticipated them being given the cost. They're attractive enough to not look commercial. They aren't overly decorative - but I didn't purchase them for that. THEY STAY IN PLACE!!!

Leslie Routledge: I bought these because I have 5 large dogs and all my stairs (4 levels) are hardwood. My eldest is starting to weaken a bit in her backend and has become a little nervous of the stair. These give just enough traction to bring back her confidence on the stairs. Definitely have achieved what I ordered them for. Only 4 stars because I do have to straighten them up every couple of days....but I’ll take that over her falling any day!!
