DD Gott - Donadees Corner: I have used Ooma for many years now and love the service. Recently I switched to a wireless router, not even considering the effect it would have on my Ooma router. Holy cow, what do I do now? There was no connection for it. The only route open was converting the Ooma router to wireless. Wow, wouldn't you know it? Amazon carried the dongle that would take care of the problem. A quick connection to the internet and, wam bang, it is up! Running and the connection is even better than before.

This thing la an horrible thing to configure. It must be connected directly to the network port of his PC; which in my opinion is a total aberration in view of available technologies.
In addition, once in place the trick works but it's a big word. It is almost impossible to hold a conversion longer than 10 seconds. It is very slow and its "lag" as not possible despite an internet connection at more than 450 m / bit.
Finally; it's 50 dollars lost and I had to put my ooma back on the cable.

G.R.: As other reviewers have noted, this thing has zero wifi range. I have it within 10 feet of my router, with clear line of site, and the signal is terrible. I get dial tone, however, call quality is very random. I haven’t had any calls completely drop yet and the call sometimes sounds fine for a minute or two but it will eventually degrade to a point where it is impossible to carry on a conversation. I have had Ooma for years and I have loved their service. Super call quality and incredibly reliable service. It is amazing that a company that has mastered Internet phone service technology is not able to produce even a somewhat reliable wifi solution.
I’ve seen a number of reviewers state that their wifi adapters fell apart while attempting to install them. I did not have that issue. A number of reviewers also noted how cumbersome the process was to get this thing installed. I can definitely concur with that! I’ve been in IT all my life however it took me over 30 mins to get this thing installed and working. I won’t bore you with the details of the install since, due to how terrible this thing is, it isn’t even worth your time to attempt the install to begin with.

glassfet: Kinda hard to love a wireless USB stick, but this one works as advertised. Yes, to set the device up you will need a user supplied Ethernet 8 pin cable. It does not come with it. Set up is easy. I found the messages at the end of the process confusing. Did it work or not? After 2 tries with the same result, I figured the set up either worked or I was consistently wrong. It turned out that it did work, and probably the first time. Since then it just sits there plugged into the OOMA doing its thing. I notice no degradation in signal or voice quality. Not that the wireless has to travel very far though. Line of site through a wall might be 15 feet. I have a cable Internet provider and I wanted to separate the OOMA, modem and wireless router. This allows me to place the OOMA where I want, away from the other 2 devices. I have no plans to use its Bluetooth capabilities. Perhaps one day in the dead of winter if I get bored I might play with its Bluetooth and see what it can do. No regrets. It works well and has no negative effects.

David B.: Very fast turn around on the order. Works great. Would recommend this item for people who travel and want to take their ooma phone with them so they can make calls as if there still at home.

John Borsje: It works very well. I do have Wi-Fi but do not have a modem in my apartment so a Ethernet hook up not possible so this is working out just fine for me.

S. Martin: I wish I had bought my Ooma Telo with the wireless/BT adapter included, it would have cost less overall - but at the time, I had no plan to do anything but plug the Ooma wired into my modem... Fast forward a few months, and yeah, now it's a good idea. So I got this. It works perfectly for us. I don't notice any less quality than the direct wired method. Glad we did it!
Note on installation - the only pain with the install was that the instructions failed to tell you something critical. Step 1 & 2 have you install the device on your Ooma and use an ethernet cable to connect your Ooma to your PC or laptop with an ethernet cable. Step 3 then tells you to go to a certain web address and then further instructions to set up the device. What they don't tell you is, that web address is not on the internet - it's the way your PC communicates to the Ooma, internally. You have to disconnect the PC or laptop from the internet and THEN go to that address, so that the Ooma and PC link up. After I tried it 40 ways from Sunday and Googled my head off, I finally gave up and got on chat with Ooma support and another device (or you will lose them when you disconnect the device you're trying...
