Get the best body weight scale for your needs with the Omron HBF-306C.G. Young, Jr.: I've had this monitor for 13 years now. It's still working with no issues. I haven't had a way to test the accuracy of the actually body fat %, but it's fluctuated with my workout habits as it should and the BMI always lines up with the charts you can use.

null: I bought mine in 2008 and it worked great for 10 years until the screen LCDs became so dim that they weren't readable. It was always within about 5% of my caliper results. There was no app when I bought / used mine.
Question is, why has this gone up in price 11x? It's gotten so expensive! I will not replace mine because of the price hike.

Shirley Wilson: It arrived very quickly, but took a little time to get it to change from kilo to pounds, [it's an age thing I guess] but it's fine, would prefer it not to show BMI as I don't find it's a useful reading. sw

Cutekelechi: I'm a personal trainer so I have skin fold callipers to use also, but I find this product really useful and would recommend it.
I wanted something that is portable.
If you read the instructions properly you shouldn't have a problem.

Andrea Polk: I purchased the Omron HBF-306C Fat Loss monitor to use as part of my on-going health and fitness routine. In 18 months I've lost 22 pounds, 12% bodyfat and dropped inches all over, but have hit a plateau and decided to focus more on my diet with the goal to lose bodyfat instead of worrying about my weight, as I've also gained muscle too.
Using the Omron Omron HBF-400 Body Fat Monitor and Scale for several years now, I was getting high bodyfat readings and getting very discouraged, as my readings via the calipers ( Accu-Measure Fitness 3000 Personal Body Fat Tester ) were 7-8% lower. As the Omron 306C was so inexpensive, and has settings for the 'athlete' - I checked on Omron's site and the manual to see if my current activity level put me in that category and it did - I went ahead and purchased it, hoping to get an fairly accurate 'guesstimate'.
Much to my surprise the calipers and the Omron HBF-306C are very close in their readings. The old Omron scale is still way too high, but when playing with the 306C and setting my own profile to 'normal' versus 'athlete', I did get a bodyfat reading similar to the Omron scale. What does this mean? Your activity...

Daniel W: I am comparing it against other methods right now, but it seems to be nearly as accurate as any other method. However it becomes much less accurate at competition leanness, that being below 15% body fat...or at low body water points in your training.
One advantage of the HPF 306 Body Fat Tracker is that you can use it without anyone else to help.
I have used a many tools over the decades and for the price...this sure seems to be a great one!
As another reviewer noted...this is best used by taking measurements over a period of time and tracking changes. If your interest is simply to monitor your body composition over time for general health, once every one to three months is a good interval. If, on the other hand, you have a specific goal or are in an intensive nutrition/training cycle, you may wish to track once a week.
If you are looking to lose weight (by losing excess fat) ...measuring Lean Body Mass and Body Fat is the only way to insure you are not losing muscle and water.
Many diets cause massive losses of water and muscle (very low calorie and low carbohydrate diets for example)...leading to a quick regain of pounds at some point. If you...
