OION Technologies B-1000 Air Purifier with Permanent Filter and Pro Ionizer Technology

CC: I bought 2. They are excellent and we could both tell the huge difference with the air quality over night. The oxidizers removed dust and allergens in both our livingroom/kitchen area and our bedroom. Exceptionally quiet and can shut off the lights if needed. My husband is an extremely light sleeper and he had no problems sleeping. The very next morning, we did not have tons of phlegm in our throats!!! These oxidizers really work exceptionally well!!! So glad I bought them. You will be too!!!

Connie TConnie T: I date a ‘closet’ smoker. He likes to have a few on Saturday nights. The smell of a cigarette does not bother me. But the smell of stale smoke in the morning in my kitchen does. This machine has made a dramatic difference in my kitchen. (The only room I allow him to have his occassional Saturday night cigarettes during the cold winter months.) my kitchen-dining area is approx. 400 sq ft. I also do not have a vent in my kitchen, so cooking smells can also linger. I LOVE this machine. Have used it for a month. I have NO smoke smells in the room when I wake in the morning. It really does a wonderful job. Has the slightest smell of ionic ozone. Which I find refreshing. I have never found hepa filter air cleaners to benefit smoke smells. This is the way to go. However, I do not have any allergies or asthma. So the benefit of removing smoke outweighs the small amount of ozone. Photos are to reference the size of the machine. It also whisper quiet. I clean the removable metal filter with a soft toothbrush and dawn dishsoap. The yellow- brown tar wipes right off- proof its doing its job to some degree. Very pleased

earache: My mother moved in with my wife and I a few years ago and suffers from incontinence. Her bedroom is small, about 15'x18. She periodically uses a porta-potty which is also in her room. Needless to say the smell of urine when the house is closed up becomes fairly potent. I wanted something small, quiet, filterless, easy to clean with ionization. I'm not concerned with cleaning the air, just eliminating the smell. The B-1000 has done a very good job of knocking 95% of odor from my home and her bedroom. It runs on high 24/7 and it produces very little noise, but also doesn't move a lot of air. So don't expect this to clean and freshen the air in your gargantuan living room with cathedral ceilings. The B-1000 is intended for small rooms or closets when the door is closed most of the time. Also, even when in a small room you have to give it several hours before you'll notice a difference. The results are very good. The area has a fresh air smell, almost like a window is open. Build quality is mediocre but acceptable, everything is plastic and very light, for the price paid it seems quite cheap in construction. The blue light on front (which can be switched off) is a...

Don: This review is of the OION Technologies B-1000 Permanent Filter Ionic Air Purifier Pro Ionizer with UV-C Sanitizer, New (Black). The observations I make here may apply to other air purifiers that use similar technology.

Short version (TL;DR): it works very well for my purpose (eliminate cat-pee smell upstairs).

Background: we converted our upstairs guest bathroom into a cat-litter box room. We have four cats, and we're trying to minimize the inappropriate pee-ing by providing a cat-litter box on the 2nd floor (the other 4 cat-boxes are in the basement). The cats have really taken well to the upstairs cat-litter box, but the smell is a problem. If we don't deal with (empty) the box EVERY SINGLE MORNING, the accumulation of cat-urine creates a cloud of cat-pee smell that permeates the upstairs and wafts down the steps into the main floor. Doing the cat box every morning HELPS, but by night-time, well, it's not quite enough.

I tried a near-HEPA filter blower in the bathroom (where the cat box is located), but it didn't seem to help at all. Maybe a *TRUE* HEPA filter would have done the trick, but I'm a) skeptical and b) unwilling to commit to...
