Carla: I am a first time mom and came across this book on IG. Looked as if it had a lot of good information for someone in my position, African American, pregnant, & concerned about the black maternal death rate in the US. The book was under 20$ so I thought, why not? Got it in the mail and read it in like 2-3 days! Written from a women’s prospective who is very relatable and there are many places within the book that I dog eared for future reference to speak to my OB about! It touches on birthing plans, opting to use midwives & doulas, and basic prep for when it’s time to go
To the hospital such as recommendations on what to lack. There was even a chapter for ones significant other to read. Will definitely refer back to this book for my next pregnancy as well, as a refresher!
