Jake: As advertised. It just works. You do have to do some work to line it up. The needle is protected, but don't cup your hand under it when trying to take the cork off. Oouch. I will say, the one big drawback is the loud sound it makes when the cork pops out. It sounds like a sparkling wine cork but sort of deeper. Other than those 3 things - Get One. It's fun. A good primary if you don't mind the sound, and a good backup because it is actual not much bigger than a traditional corkscrew and it is way smaller than the automatics or the winged plugger types.

MamaWood0917: Works pretty good. Getting the expended cork out of it is a MASSIVE PAIN. The flimsy plastic ring that you are to push the cork off with is barely larger than the cylinder making it VERY hard to get a grip and push the cork out. Beyond that, super easy to use and a fun little gadget.

Tom Groenfeldt: This is amazing -- makes a pop sound like Champagne. We had a bottle of older wine and the cork broke in many small pieces. Ordered this and while I haven't used it on an older wine yet, it works great on other bottles. Don't try it on screw tops needless to say.

M. Fleming: I really like the ease of opening wine bottles. It works very well although I think it's cheaply made. Thus the four. It is hard to control the rate of cork expulsion and sounds like your opening a champagne bottle. This is not a problem because the cork is contained just a comment.
