Emily W.: Got this cooktop for a weeklong stay in a hotel room…we didn’t want to eat every meal out, so we wanted something that we could cook some easy meals on. I had read that induction cooktops are more precise and efficient and this does not disappoint. It didn’t take up much room in our room/luggage and was surprisingly nice to cook on! Once we were done cooking it cooled quickly and was easy to just wipe down and put away out of sight.
I’ve even busted this little cooktop out at home and will definitely use it as we transition to van/RV travel in the future!

Will: I like my eggs scrambled easy the control of temperature made it simple to get nice moist soft eggs. It works well with my carbon steel pan cooking evenly with no burning or scorching. I thought I would have to get a new tea pot because I used a magnet to test it and it didn't stick but I set the pot on the magnet and it stuck there are two types of stainless steel on the pot and the bottom only is magnetic so test the bottom of your pot. 120v 1300w equals 10.83 amps so it can be used with any 15a household circuit the inverter in my trailer.

Amazon Customer: As it is a low power consumption, I bought it to be used when the power goes out with my Jackary. I tried it out during a 5 hr outtage and it worked great! Totally worth it.

Ada D.Ada D.: I had bought one for my son last year. He loves it. I decided to get this one for me. I have an electric stove and started to think that when I cook small meals for myself such as eggs, pancakes, rice, chicken etc, I really use only one or two burners on my stove utilizing a lot of electricity to run this stove and often hard to control the heat with numbers listed from “lo” to “hi”. This little induction cooker is amazing for cooking my grilled chicken, steaks and about everything I do on my stove but with controlled temperatures, less electricity and no food scorching! No more guessing on the proper temperature for a recipe. I have an old nonstick pan that somehow works with this. If you’re not sure, grab a magnet from the refrigerator and place is under your pot or pan. Cookware has to be magnetic to use this. I lucked out with all my pots and pans working with this unit. Also note that when you remove the pan and get an “E1” message, put the pan back and press start. It will resume cooking with no problems. I will get another one soon!

samb: This is the second one I have bought. This brand is better than any other. Im in an apartment with an old coil burners. So my son made me a cover for my stove and I have both my induction burners on there. My first one is over 10 years old and works as good as the new one.
Would recommend to anyone with an older stove or for camping.

Amazon Customer: Have used 2 of these for over 4 years, directly from NuWave. Mostly used one of them until a few months ago, and set up the second one I had, for occasional use. The original was used almost daily for all these years, and did a superb job. BUT it finally got tired and overworked and didn't heat to potential, so I felt I needed to toss it. Having gotten used to two on the go, I bought another, and just love it too. I haven't used the burners on my stove for over four years. Checked out some cheaper brands, but none offered the same features or assurance of a good product. Reviews for other brands were often negative too often. Decided to pay the extra and get NuWave again. Happy I didn't try to buy cheap, would never have been as happy with another product. The NuWave precision cooktop is superb! You'll get used to the size, and will be happy when you need to cook in a large pot. L Scott Canada

Kevin: I purchased this product on Amazon before realizing that with a little digging, I could have saved $60 and ordered it from Bed Bath and Beyond Canada. In fact the invoice in the box was from Bed Bath and Beyond so I guess the seller figures a $60 premium as a handling fee is fair. Lesson learned.
The cooktop itself is very good although it does seem to have a hotspot in the middle. I like the idea that you can use different wattage settings as it may eventually be used for off-the-grid cooking.
The pan on the other hand is not good and I would encourage others to use a different pan. I now have a cast iron Heritage Rock frying pan and a decent cast iron enamel coated brazier for slower cooks.
All in all a good product, just watch the price and do a little digging before buying to make sure you aren't being taken advantage of.

NMNM: My first review didn't appear to post so I am doing a horrid job with a second try.
UPDATE: Wow! The level of control on this is amazing. I could take something from "boiling" to "not boiling" by using the +/- with the temperature settings with just a five degree difference. Also let something cook on 600w rather than 900w - still boiled. Amazing.
Items of note:
- Usable "HOT" area in center ring area is a diameter of 6 3/4".
- Max recommended pot/pan size if 10.3". Material in the 3.5" zone outside the inner ring will take longer to heat, etc.
- PIC Flex is about 10.1" wide. 11 3/4" long, and 2 1/2" inches high.
- Does not have an "Off" switch so may (or may not) use Vampire Power.
- Can be set for 600w/900w/1300w, but cooking times are obviously "longer" for lower settings.
- "Exhaust" vent looks to run from "9-oclock to 1-oclock" position. Air seems to exit around "11-oclock".
- "Another vent ("Intake"?) looks to be around the "2-oclock to 3-oclock" position.
- 32" cord is permanently attached at comes out "from the right" in between the two vents.
- Area around the exhaust vent can get on the toasty side.
- Digital thermometers are...

Kay Archer: I tried the more expensive cooktop that was supposed to be much better than this model, but it wasn't. This has more intuitive controls in that I can set a temperature and it will hold the pot at that temperature rather than having to calculate watts to attain the level of cooking that I need to use. There isn't room on my counter to leave the cooktop, so I appreciate the size and weight of this unit. It is easy to move and store.
