Noise-Reducing Earplugs with SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders Plus Filters

Pascal Nguyen: J'avais acheté le modèle SureFire EP3 en taille M en pensant être dans la moyenne au niveau des oreilles. Au final, cela ne me convenait pas. Si je fermais les bouchons et que je tentais de les mettre dans mes oreilles, ça ne tenait pas et ça ressortait tout seul (les boucles extérieurs sont censés faire point d'appui pour mieux tenir, mais peut-être que mes oreilles sont trop grandes pour la taille M), en plus de comprimer l'air dans mes oreilles et de faire un effet ventouse très désagréable.

J'ai acheté ce modèle en taille L pour être sûr que ça tienne, en plus du fait que cela rentre plus loin dans l'oreille (meilleure isolation, mais pas une meilleure atténuation du bruit).

En fermant le bouchon, l'isolation est mieux, mais j'ai beaucoup de mal à réussir à les mettre avec les bouchons fermés. Ce que je fais, c'est que je laisse les bouchons ouvert, puis j'appuie doucement avec les ongles pour enfoncer dans l'oreille. Le trou fait que l'air peut circuler, et donc cela ne fera pas pression sur les tympans. Une fois bien enfoncés et les boucles extérieures bien mises en place, vous pouvez choisir de refermer les bouchons pour une meilleure...

Richard: Was a bit sceptical when I received them that they would work, having worn them for an hour shooting they gave me a head ache and were not really stopping the noise enough, after a bit of research I find the average ear canal is 25mm to the ear drum, maybe this was why they hurt, I ordered the large and decided to cut of the end cap leaving just two, much better now, they seal in my ear better and dont give me any pain or headaches, hope this helps if you have the same problem

1) It is absolutely critical that you purchase the right size. IMO, the sizes run small. The medium size is much smaller than I anticipated. I wear 'youth'-size baseball caps and small mens t-shirts, yet surprisingly am a large in these earplugs. It is the only product I've ever purchased that I'm a 'medium' in. If you buy ones that are too small, they'll fail to provide adequate hearing protection and may even be uncomfortable to wear.

joseinAhwatukee: I shoot outdoors as well as indoors and I have owned and tried all kind of hearing protection from the custom made which cost 2000 dlls to the cheapy foamy ear plugs and these Surefire are on top of my list in regards of HEARING PROTECTION, comfort and price. They provide full 24 NRR when used with the little plug close and 12 NRR when open. They are extremely and I mean EXTREMELY comfortable. They are made of surgical grade silicon which us very soft and pliable which translate into mold perfectly into your ear. If you take the time and effort to proper maintain these hearing protection, they can last for a long time (years likely) and the price is awesome for the quality. Just be sure to get the proper size for your ear and I can guarantee you that you will be well equipted to go to the range. If you shoot outdoors, you don’y need additional protection. If you shoot INDOORS, I recommend use these as additional protection. And this is true regardless what type of hearing protection you happen to be using while shooting at an indoor range. Dan Howard: I finally ordered a pair of these on the recommendation of a friend, and honestly regret not listening to him sooner.
They are quite comfortable, and don’t make your ears ache after wearing them for too long, as a snug pair of foam plugs often will. The rubber part that fits around the inside of your ear (not the plug itself) does a really good job of keeping them firmly in place as well, saving me from have to periodically adjust them as with some similar pairs I’ve tried in the past.
I primarily use these doubled-up under electronic earmuffs at an indoor range, and I have found that they allow me to hear the electronics in my headset much more clearly, and can make out what my friends are saying without having to crank up the volume all the way up ever time somebody is talking to me (unlike with foam). As for outdoors, with the end caps out, I can still easily hear conversations, while having plenty of protection even with high caliber rifles.
I’ve only been using mine for a month or two, but the friend that recommended them has been using the same pair as a Law Enforcement RO and for his ARMY weekends for at least two years, so I have no doubt they’ll hold up...

MR B.: Produit de qualité et conforme à mes attentes. Les EP4 étant par contre un peu long dans mon oreille pour être utilisé avec un intercom ( les oreillettes forcent un peu et donc les EP4 sont un peu trop enfoncés dans l'oreille ) dans le casque j'ai coupé la dernière alvéole et maintenant c'est nickel!
Très bonne atténuation des bruit extérieur nuisible même avec mon schuberth.

Mikale Daniel: seems to be good quality so far, i've had them for about 6 months and they are still in good shape and i still use them.

I am a mechanic and i'm in a shop most of the day with an impact next to my ear and other loud and annoying noises all day. I still need to be able to answer a phone periodically during the day as well which can be hard when your ears are ringing from using a 1/2 inch impact most of the day. that is the main reason i bought these ear plugs, here are my thoughts

NEGATIVES are that they are uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, people are constantly asking you "what kind of music are you listening to?", they can be hard to get adjusted to fit your ear, and lastly the little plastic plug that is supposed to block out all noise doesn't do much and can be a pain to insert.

POSITIVES are they do work like the add says, loud sounds are blocked while low tones (like peoples voices) aren't, i've been able to answer the phone with them in as well because of their low profile design, they are adjustable, so they can be made to fit your ear better, and they do last as long if not longer than they say they do
