Elisabeth: These work perfect for noise cancelling while also playing music. If you want total silence it will block noise. If you want background noise to listen in on conversations, it'll do that too. It does like to disconnect randomly and sometimes it gives you a hard time when connecting. Comfort is fine as it gives you different foam tip options and it fits well in small ears. I have small ears and earbuds like air pods hurt my ears. It is easy to operate and did work well on the range when I was doing range day for Army ROTC. I had not only my rifle but the other cadets' rifles right next to me on either side and it did a good job blocking out the majority of the gun fire.

Because it matters: Not impressed. Do they work? Yes. Am I being too picky for the price point? I cannot be sure. Application: Hunting (shotgun). Setup: foam, for maximum NRR. Fit: Not great, but every ear is different... that said I wear foam earplugs regularly as well as muffs and I always get the feeling with this product that I cannot get it seated properly in my ear.

Ambient noise amplification is not that good. They block out the loud report of the firearm, but it is difficult to hear and understand a conversation. Really, there's no point in having ambient sound if it cannot be discernable. I would like to wear them deer hunting but I don't think I could even hear the squirrels ... if you know, you know.

Smiegle: First off, some people are saying their music is too quiet when amplification is on but they must not have figured out that using your phone volume buttons will indeed turn the music up well over satisfactory range levels. Let’s face it , if you have sound amplification on you must be wanting to hear what is going on around you or if someone is talking! When the two are on together the headphones will not let the music get as loud as normal earbuds but why would they if you are trying to hear your environment? The music will play load enough that you have to pause it to hear what the person is saying to you, or you can keep it down low enough to hear your music, your surroundings and the person talking to you without issue.
As far as noise cancellation….I have ran my .22LR, .556, 300 BO AND 12 guage with and without sound amplification and they absolutely work! The cancellation is on par with other over the ear headphones I’ve used in the past. The only complaint I have is when listening to music with amplification on sometimes there is a crackle for a few seconds after your shots have been fired. Almost like they are recalibrating or something but it doesn’t last long....

Templar1975: Took these to my gun range on Monday and they worked very well, they close off the ear better than my Impact Pro headset and the Bluetooth feature worked well while I received a couple of phone calls. As for Battery usage I couldn't be happier, I was worried they wouldn't last long but I arrived at the range and turned these on at approx 8:30 am, they were on all the time until I left at around 3 pm and still had more than half their battery left. Recommended to all my shooter friends.

BriggsBriggs: I was skeptical about these as I have read mixed reviews, but after using them for over a year I can say that these are the best shooting Bluetooth/noise canceling/touch control earbuds I have found. They pair automatically, cancel pulse/gunfire sounds while letting background sound through, take and make calls well, and they sound fine playing podcasts or music. They aren’t gonna deliver booming bass, but they’re completely great for functionality, and they do everything they say they’ll do. I am an avid shooter and I also work behind a 372xp chainsaw every day, and have tried 3 different sets of various brands of Bluetooth noise cancelling earphones -and have been disappointed with them all, until I found these. The others all stay in the drawer now because these Caldwells are GREAT. The slide volume control must be swept up or down a few times as each sweep does a small adjustment, but once you get the hang of it, it works fine to adjust volume. All the other touch controls are fairly intuitive and straight forward. These work one at a time as a single earpiece or simultaneously as Bluetooth headphones and have fully ambidextrous/identical controls on each bud. Although...
