Comments

PB: These are very small for my 1 gallon disteller. Have to use 5 of them at once.

lowly student: These filters appear to be what's needed for my tabletop distiller. I haven't used it in a long time, so I haven't purchased filters. I was happy to see them readily available. However, the original carbon filters were much bigger and had much more of the charcoal material inside. They were from Sears. I would prefer the better quality, but I guess a lot of products have changed over the years. Would buy them again.

VankyVanky: This filter (folded) fits perfectly in the filter plastic casings of the cat water fountains I currently own. I had to trim the short ends and pry the plastic casing open. I am glad I found this... :-)

G. I. Holmes: These are supposed to have more charcoal per pack and they don't have as much as any I've bought before. Also, the charcoal is enclosed in a thin paper, not the sturdy mesh that I am used to. I haven't used them yet, but I'm not hopeful that I will be happy with them.

Amazon Customer: Only received a a small box of 6 and paid over $70.00. I had to put 1 star because you have to put something.

Eric G.: I expected these to be bigger. I had to use 4 at a time in my water distiller. This really decreases the cost-effectiveness.

Julia: I have a “Mophorn” brand water distiller. I also got it from Amazon. I was reluctant to buy charcoal packets for it because the reviews seem to be so mixed. I went with this brand because it was affordable, but not sketchy looking like some other ones. I have no complaints so far. Each charcoal packet is individually wrapped, which might use extra plastic, but I think it contains any charcoal powder much better like that. Switching to parchment paper packets might be a better alternative, though. The setup was simple, and one packet fits perfectly in my water distiller. I do fold it in half first. I will be repurchasing this brand in the future.

(Also, for anyone wondering like I was - you need charcoal for a water distiller because V.O.Cs (volatile organic compounds) pass through distillation because they are so small. MTBE, PCE, and Trihalomethane are very common ones. The charcoal catches them in the final step.)
