CuZn UC 200 Under-Sink Water Filtration System

A. Baker: We're on our second CuZn 200 now, not because the first failed, but because when it's expiration date neared, we agreed we were so pleased with it that we wanted to buy another. The price per gallon is excellent. Installation is a breeze; couldn't be easier. The filter sets tucked away and unnoticed under the sink. And the filter works very well, giving us great-tasting water free of everything we don't want to drink. Highest recommendation. BONUS: the company contacts you by email to make sure you are happy with their product. I like that.

My filter after 2 years of daily use was starting to give out and the water was beginning to taste as it used to so I reached out to their support to see if there was something I could do. Their representative, Alex sent over a whole new kit as it turned out my water supplier had sediments which caused the filter to prematurely break. This is without a doubt a great company to purchase from as they care about their product and the experience of the customer along with it!

That said I was compelled to write this review due to the outstanding service / attention received by the CuZn team. I did not have the proper parts to install this correctly. I took a couple of pics on my phone, sent it over to their support email and - boom - within a day or two, I had detailed (and simple) instructions for what I would need to do to get this up and running AND the necessary parts/adaptors in the mail on the way to my home at no added cost. Alex Molineiro was my rep and I cannot speak more highly. Prompt, professional and helpful.

MVL: We live in a town with sometimes questionable water. We also moved from a house to an apartment in 2019. The house had a big reverse osmosis system, but you can't do that in an apartment!
After researching many options, I settled on this simple solution. Installation was straightforward and quick.
We purchased a VERIFY Premium Drinking Water test kit a year ago to see how this was holding up to its claim of 'up to five years.' After testing the kitchen faucet where this is installed and comparing to both bathroom sinks, it definitely shows a difference still.
So, I trust this is the real deal and meets the claims from the manufacturer. We're about to renew our lease and I figured it wouldn't hurt to replace this a little early, so I just ordered a new one. Repeat business means I trust the product. For something like our drinking water, that's important!
(Although I am a VINE VOICE customer, I did not receive anything to review this product. Just an unbiased review).

Bryce: I ordered the CuZn UC-200 water filter to replace an older unit that had reached the end of it's lifespan. The UC-200 had great reviews online, and glowing accolades related to customer service, so I decided to order it and give it a shot. The unit arrived exactly as described, and the installation couldn't have been easier. I had to go to the hardware store to by an extra water line that had a 3/8" coupling on one end and a 1/2" coupling on the other, but the rest of the installation was seamless. You will also need to purchase and use plumbers tape on the valve threads, in order to get a proper seal. The unit does not come with plumbers tape, FYI. The instructions will tell you to run the water for up to 5 minutes, once the installation is complete, but I still had a lot of air bubbles in the water after 5 minutes, so I ran it an additional 5 minutes (10 min. in total). After that, the water tasted great, and was crystal clear. The taste of my morning coffee improved almost immediately. The CuZn customer service has been great as well. They reached out to me, shortly after the unit arrived, to check on the installation and whether or not I was satisfied with the purchase. I'm...

easy to add under sink, i went to the store and bought braided metal connector hoses and added this unit to the cold water supply via a split T. connected the output to a faucet i bought on amazon for a dedicated tap. everyone uses it.

Lawrence S.Lawrence S.: We were replacing a Kenmore under counter water filter unit purchased in 2012 because we could no longer purchase the Kenmore filters with Sears going under. The CuZn UC-200 has a 50,000 US gallon capacity versus the 280 US gallon capacity for the Kenmore filters. We would need to spend $10,000 in Kenmore filters at their current cost to cover 50,000 gallons. The CuZn UC-200 takes up a third of the space under the counter. Our installation was a little more complicated as the output was going both to our filtered water tap and our refrigerator freezer for ice. We contacted CuZn Customer Support and they shipped out the necessary components for free within a few days with clear instructions. We are very satisfied with the new filter and support.

Trekboy72Trekboy72: I'd been using jug filtration systems for many years and after using the CuZn system now for a couple of weeks I am wondering why. After you factor in a jug, replacement filters over 5 years based on a 3 month replacement cycle, taxes etc. you are around $150 TCO. With this system you are around $180 TCO but no need to refill jugs and wait for it to filter, it's right out of the tap, for $30 difference that not a lot pay for the convenience since this lasts for 5 years.

The install is so easy and comes with everything you need. You do need your own wrench though. Suggestion to the manufacturer to include a mini wrench like IKEA does?

Anyhow, on to the most important thing, how does the water taste since that is where you really find the value in this system. For my family, we love it. We compared it to the jug filtered water and could really notice the things left behind in the jug filtered as opposed to the CuZn system, no after taste at all, super clean and crisp. Initially you will see cloudiness in the water as the filter primes but that passes very quickly and you get a great tasting glass of cool H20. Ms. C.C.: We live just outside the city and our clear glass kettle had a film in it constantly. Since installing this filter, 3 days later, still clear. Hope it has a long life. Very pleased so far. Hubby says it was very easy to install.

UPDATE after a few weeks, the taste of the water is like it was before and clarity is cloudy again in the kettle :( Will reach out to the manufacturer and updated further.

UPDATE We finally reached out to the manufacturer and their reaction and customer service was OUTSTANDING!! (Having worked in customer service industry for 40+ years, I feel qualified to rate their service.) Matter is being resolved and will update further in the future, but in the meantime, amending my rating from 1 to 4. I honestly think our water is the issue, not the unit. Will confirm in the future.
