This rangefinder is incredibly compact and lightweight, making it easy to store and carry. It features target priority technology, giving quick and accurate measurements up to 550 yards. ODT: Affordable range golf range finder. Very easy to use and accurate less than 200 yards.

Charlie Turner: It can be a bit tricky at times to hit a flagstick, especially when there's trees behind it. Takes a bit of getting used to and some steady hands. Other than this, can't fault the product. Works well when you hit the target!

W. Jordan: Bought this to replace a Bushnell that stopped working after it got a little wet in a sudden downpour. Was looking for the least expensive, most simple, brand-recognizable rangefinder available, and this fit the bill. My guess is that 99.99% of hackers like myself don't need a rangefinder with slope, as we aren't that accurate anyway, so all I wanted was something that gave me some idea of which club I should mis-hit. I love the way this thing works - press the button twice to activate the scan mode (the only mode it has), and start scanning for your target. It's pretty easy to tell when you've hit it, as the yardage changes quickly as you move the rangefinder around, and it's obvious when you've hit the flag stick or the trees behind the green. Also works great for getting distances to other objects. One of my golf buddies has the same unit, and we get the exact same yardages. Also nice and compact, and doesn't bother you if kept in your pocket. It doesn't have any kind of flag-stick vibration like my Bushness did, but I've found it isn't necessary. Have used for a couple of months now, and still working on original battery. The only thing I didn't particularly like was the case...

Bernard Gladding: Golf Rangefinders are all very expensive so I was hesitant to go the "less expensive" route, but I am glad I did. This model works perfectly. Does what it was designed to do. I have no problem pointing it at a flag and getting an accurate reading. It hasn't done me wrong yet and I've been using it ever since I got it - about 12 rounds ago. I also love the size, fits in my back pocket and I can swing without even feeling it. Can even sit and ride in the cart with it the whole time without it bothering me.
Nikon cameras are a trusted brand so I guess pulling the trigger and buying this one didn't feel like too much of a leap of faith. They are a company that stand behind their products and this one is no exception.
Also the case is solid. A small thing to think about but when this thing is in your bag getting crushed and thrown around, you'll be happy there's a case that's actually doing it's job.

ChrisChris: Love this range finder. It picks up the flag easy. No worries about your partners waiting for you to range the flag. A quick click and you have your distance everytime. It will pick up a flag very easy.. farther out than any of us can hit a fairway wood, longest I recall picking up a flag was roughly 280 yrds. I'm sure it will pick up farther, there's just no need, I can't hit a fairway wood over 300 yards. I even use it on my drives to range back to the tee box, great for letting you know exactly how far your driving. Automatically turns off quickly for battery life. Play almost every weekend, had it for roughly 6 months, and batteries are still good. Small and compact, attaches to my bag easliy. Good buy, if your thinking about it, do it, you'll be happy with it.

Vincent Vega: I paid the unthinkably low sum of $99.00 for the Coolshot 20 on what was apparently a 2 day sale on Amazon. I actually never thought I needed a rangefinder and actually had no interest in buying one, but when I saw this at $100 lower than it's usual $199 selling price, I decided to get one just to mess around with it.
All of these years, I've used the onboard golf cart GPS which is offered by all the courses I play. When I began exclusively walking, I bought a Garmin GPS watch which gave me the same functionality of the golf cart GPS. But now that I own a rangefinder, I have found that it has a positive impact to my game, I can quickly scope trees, hazards, distances to 100, 150, and 200 yard markers, and it has strategically changed how I play. I'm playing a lot more target golf and laying up so I can use my most accurate clubs for an approach shot. For me, I'd rather play a full swing high wedge shot instead of a bump and run, so for me, I'd rather be 80-100 yards instead of 40-70 yards. My pin accuracy has improved since I started using the Coolshot 20.
As for the specifics of the Coolshot 20, I've never used any other rangefinder, so I don't have any basis for...

Amazon Customer: I admit I was attracted to this rangefinder based on its modest price and good reviews. I have used it now for 3 rounds and find it acceptable.
As previous reviews have stated it does have trouble in circumstances when there is a block of trees behind the pin. This requires a steady hand to lock in the reading. It certainly is much better than not using a rangefinder at all. Rangefinders do two things: firstly they give you distance and secondly and most importantly force the player to stop and think about the shot at hand. I recommend this device.

Jacob G.: This rangefinder is a great basic rangefinder! If you play at courses with the reflectors on top of the flags, you will have no issue getting quick readings. If you play without reflectors and you don't have a steady hand, this will be a nightmare if there are trees behind the flags.
I've caught myself getting readings of the trees behind the green and have flown the green a few times because of it. Most of the time, I shoot the flag and a nearby item (like a sand trap) to confirm that the distance is right now to make sure I hit my target.

Peter Newton: After 5+ years it still works.
Struggles to pick up pins over 220 yards compared to some of my friends range finders.
Yardages seem to match reasonable with a number of other make/models and GPS.
