Worth the money.: All of the blades where sharp with no imperfections. Flashlight is very powerful, rope is good and strong. The machete feels good when swinging it and feels solid.
Everything works as intended. Good value.

Neil LiedtkeNeil Liedtke: All the blades are very sharp out of the box.
Machete is decent but with the saw on top you cannot split wood with it nor do I think the blade is strong enough for it. Leave the chopping for the axe, which in itself is decent but I would have prefered it to be a bit sturdier, but you get what you pay for.
No complains as of yet for the knife, overall just good. The carabiners are small but surprisingly strong so getting a few of those is a nice little treat, along with the paracord and sharpening stone. The flashlight is what you would expect, not great, not the worst ive seen. And lastly with pictures is the flint, it is only a small piece of flint in essentially a holder. Honestly I would pay the extra if they added a full size flint instead of this, this was the only part of the package I was really dissapointed in. As title says, good value for the cost and is a nice kit for the novice camper. If you are building any sort of bugout/survival kit I would save for higher quality.

Zach: The bad: The axe has no weight to it, the knife is not super sharp, the carabiners are flimsy, and do not fit all items, and the sharpener is to small to really be useful.
The good: the axe and machete are absurdly sharp, and great for whittling and the machete is great for removing tree limbs, the rope is good quality, and the fire rod is a good make if you know how to use it.
Untested: have not used the flashlight as I have a better one, but it fits in my glove compartment so it lives there for now.

R: I wouldn't consider this a real camping kit for a serious camper. I got this for my kid to use around the campsite and he loves it.

Barry Dean Barrentine Jr.Barry Dean Barrentine Jr.: I think for the price this is a deal you need to grab for anyone interested in the outdoors... I view it as a starter kit that can grow and change with upgrades... ( IE the full tang axe is cool, but it's more like a swinging knife, Lighter than the included large knife) I have already upgraded this little axe to a Gerber... It provides a great base, all the blades will need sharpening prior to going out in the woods or you will be disappointed. The sheathes are what to be expected they are so-so ... The flashlight is the only thing I can really be cynical about... First off I have tons of little fu-fu flashlights and this fits in the junk drawer along with the others, I will say slightly better than dollar store quality, but if you can zoom in on my included picture, around the lens... The paint job is definitely poor and has a few rust spots already... The complete package is worth the money and don't let a fu-fu flashlight change your mind... It's a good starter kit... I hope it comes back in stock soon... Because I'd like to buy a few as holiday gifts...

DJ CHELDJ CHEL: The quality is equal to the cost. Not super high quality, but good enough for my needs. I was looking for something small and light weight for backpacking.
Tip for beginners: the black paint is pretty, but it interferes with fire steel. First thing I had to do was sand the paint (or scrap is also an option) from the fire steel and the knife edge I planned on using for a striker. Annoying that it was painted in the first place. Fire steels only work when it is metal on metal. It's better to spend an extra 10 minutes of prep time while unpacking than to be up in the hills and having to try and get a spark off of paint with wet, cold fingers. Once I got the paint off I was surprised at the quality of the fire steel.
Second tip is that the hatchet is thin metal. I want to use this as a hammer for tent pins and so forth. So I welded two pieces of flat steel to the back. Tripling its thickness on the back edge. And covered that with another piece of flat steel. Giving it a low profile hammer face that still it's in the sheath. I planned this before purchasing the item, so that doesn't affect the star review. With a little modifying, I have a hammer axe combo that is...
