Way more sturdy, obviously because it's metal, and easier to turn with soapy hands. Will never go back to the old design!

Liane Voormeij: Our shower cartridge needed to be replaced. While removing the old handle bolt, it snapped after a few turns with the hex key. I couldn't find the exact replacement, so I ordered this handle.

After drilling out the old bolt and removing both the handle & adapter plate, I replaced the cartridge & installed the new adapter plate & handle. Everything fit like the old one.
I've kept the old metal adapter plate, in case the newer, plastic one gives me problems, but so far so good. It's a good, firm fit.

The new handle kit came with the adapter plate & bolt, hot limit adjustment (did not use this part), hex key, + handle & handle bolt. The whole process of removing the old handle, changing the cartridge, & installing the new handle took under 1 hour. If you do this yourself, I'd advise watching some videos first.

RyanK68: Didn't pay attention when ordering, but this comes with two adapters which is significant. I was replacing a like-for-like looking handle for a customer that was floppy/wobbly. Tightening set screws etc did nothing to help. When I put on the first adapter (just black plastic) that looked like metal version I was replacing, the handle was better, but still has some wobble - and also free spun all the way around in a circle through hot and cold settings. I decided to try the second with the white plastic limiter on it and that instantly solved the wobble issue as well as the free spinning and not there is a defined hot and cold limit to how far the handle will turn. Someone either installed improperly decades ago, or handle was replaced in past at some point. Anyway - it now works as intended!

B.X: The handle was used to replace my original shower room's Moen faucet handle.

The original handle was too rusted to be lossen so I have to break it in order to get it off. The installation of the new handle is relatively easy.

So far after almost two months of usage, the new handle works well. It feels a little different from the original, but it's totally ignorable. The part is pricey, but the package is very simple. Well, as long as it works well, I don't have other requirement.

Lizzie Seagull: I ordered this after looking at a few other Moen handles. The one I had originally broke (and was plastic) so I crossed my fingers and ordered this one because the reviews made it seem like it would work with my shower even though it is a different style handle (the plastic knob one I had had a lot of reviews saying the plastic broke easily and some people had to order them fairly often, which I didn't want to do even though this one lasted at least 1.5 years (who knows how long the person in my unit before me had used it.)

It was easy to set up and install even though there were no directions. It looks good and feels good too, and I like how it's not plastic so it feels sturdier.

Sue: All the parts you need were included, but how hard would it be to print the directions on the box? It looks nice and works well. Better than the constantly breaking plastic teardrop design. I do not like the fact that the adapters are plastic...I actually later ordered 2 more adapters, just in case. (BTW, remove the teardrop handle, leave the white plastic parts in place, for a positemp cartridge use the all black adapter. Check the position of the handle before screwing it in. Tighten the screw, install the handle and you are done.) Update: 9/1/22 Plastic part broke again!
Update: Sept 12,2022 I thought the plastic part broke , but it didn't. The handle had been hard to turn for quite a while, and we found the cartridge was bad. Replaced with Moen 1222 cartridge and the handle turns with one finger now. Hopefully this it the end of problems with this shower!
