SmokeySkypilot: Due to a stroke, my wife has difficulty getting in and out of bed. I mounted this on the wall nearest her side of the bed and it has made things much easier for her.

There were no studs at the only location I could mount the grab bar, so I had to mount it with expanding anchors. To test the strength of the mounting, I put my full weight on the bar and lifted myself off the floor. It is the best and strongest grab bar I have in the house! Definitely a 5-star product and a brand I have come to know and trust!

rdyardie: We have used the MOEN bars before in the bathroom. Before my wife required knee replacement surgery, I installed the latest grab bar in the shower. I will install another MOEN grab bar in our bathtub area in an upstairs bathroom. They have a patented secure fastening system which utilizes the hidden wall studs. A simple stud finder will be useful for the installation. I am very pleased with this purchase hence the 5 star rating.

L. Davis: I installed this grab bar vertically next to a bath tub. The mounting brackets give you some flexibility with the location of your screws, so I was able to get two screws into the stud at the top and at the bottom. I added a hollow wall anchor (designed for use with grab bars) at the top and bottom, for a total of six fasteners. After reading other reviews I chose not to use the screws that came with the bar, but the screws I used were not much better. My advice is not to use Phillips-head screws for mounting this type of grab bar to a wood stud. Instead, use screws with Torx or square drive heads. Also, use masking tape to fasten the two decorative covers to the middle of the bar during installation so that they don't slide around making screeching noises while you're trying to work.

Mzee: We found ourselves needing a railing for the bathroom earlier than we'd hoped. I'd seen ones like this before but didn't know which to pick. This one had good reviews and was Moen which I think is a good name.
It was easy to install (6 screws), and feels really secure. (You can't second guess security when you're trusting it with your weight.) The finish is (obviously) different than the other fixtures in the bathroom, but the look quickly becomes unobtrusive and just seems to fit in quite suitably. Would recommend.
