Kerri: When I work from home my PC has to be connected to the internet by ethernet. I needed an adapter for a laptop which only has USB and HDMI ports. This is exactly what I was looking for. It plugs into a USB port then I just plug in an ethernet cord. Voila! What a $$ saver!!

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: The converter works fine for a month or so but then problems will arise. The first one I bought had problems with the coating around the wires...it broke (see picture of the one with the longer cord). The second one I bought simply stopped working...worked one day and not the next. When you plug it in the light appears so it's pretty easy to see if it is working or not. Yesterday it just stopped working. I tried it on another computer and it still doesn't work. I borrowed an adapter from a friend and theirs worked fine so I know it isn't my computer. I guess the search continues to find a better USB Ethernet (LAN) Network Adapter.

EvanEvan: The WIFI was spotty for my child's Chromebook that she got from school for remote learning. I wanted to get it hard wired as that makes everything more reliable.

This was the most cost effective option and it works great. I'm docking a star because of the horrible placement of the activity light which is a red LED underneath the middle of the case. I mean what was wrong with link lights on the RJ45 end?

Nothing some electrical tape couldn't block out but not something you should have to do normally

Caren C Carter: A couple of things. My laptop wouldn't boot up with it plugged in. Like it was a bootable drive or something. Then, it started disconnecting for no reason. I examined it and found that there's no crimp or anything so where the tiny cable goes into the usb side, it just slides in and out. The last time I used it, was the last time. Doesn't work anymore. I'm sure the wires are probably broken on the inside of the usb side since there is nothing stable about it. I only got to use it a few times. If they were 10 for 10 bucks, I might buy all 10 if I was in the need for a disposable adapter.
