CamillaCamilla: My current apartment have strong winds (40th floor) which I love but slams the doors. At first I tried to use the adhesive but didn’t secure very well on the cheap doors currently installed, so I screwed it to the door and the wall part I used the adhesive. For the doors that are not closed daily it worked well, but the bathroom one that is used daily, the adhesive didn’t last. This would make me give 4 stars.

I reduced another star because it got rusty. Those are bedroom doors, not in contact with direct water. I live some blocks from the sea so the sea air is stronger but yeah… if those were good quality doors that I intended to keep I would be disappointed to had made roles on it.

Installation was quite easy, I did myself with a screwdriver (low quality door, cheap to make roles)

Leon F.: Used on a couple of doors to hold them open. These puppies are powerful, I wound up putting a rubber cap over the magnet so I don't have to pull so hard on the door to break it away from the magnet.

Deluge: Installed on a bathroom door that won't stay open. I don't want one of my cats to get stuck in there (most cats can open doors, but mine aren't the smartest cat's you'll meet). Anyway, it's too strong for such a lightweight door, so I stuck a sticker to the door portion and that reduces the magnetic hold so that it's just strong enough. Previously, you had to pull the door pretty hard and it made a loud bang when it finally popped loose from the magnet.

Also: I went to a doctor's appointment at a new medical facility recently and noticed they had this exact thing installed there. It was holding open a very heavy door, so it must be pretty effective.

Charlie C.: Our door is self closing. The magnet in this device is not strong enough to keep the door open (it can't overcome even the *light duty* door-closing hinge.)

Cory: Bought these for baby proofing our front door. Installed it at the top, would have been better at the bottom. I also have one at the bottom of a bathroom door. Both keep little hands from shutting the doors. We’ve had them for a couple months and they’ve held up well and our daughter isn’t able to shut the front door anymore.
