Not a reviewer: To be upfront, this tee was a great, essential even, purchase.
The story: Bought a bidet seat for my father in-law, the seat came with a super super... Super cheap plastic tee adapter. So cheap it came with a hose clamp to keep it together so it won't fall apart and flood your house. I'm a plumber and the 2 times I installed it (replaced the toilet, kept the bidet) I spent half an hour each time trying to get it to stop leaking. I'm a professional and know what I'm doing and still hate that tee, it literally gave me trouble sleeping afraid it would flood the house. I ordered this metal tee for piece of mind. Install was a dream, so good and easy I barely remember doing it. Popped the plastic tee off and into the trash (along with the metal hose clamp that held it together), screwed this one on and was done. No stream of water running down the supply line, no dripping, no lost sleep. Just installed, checked for leaks and moved on with life...pretty much what I expect from plumbing with quality parts

James Cosgrave: Only problem - I had already bought an adaptor and installed it since plumbing was shut off and I could not wait for mail to deliver the one Luxe sent me. So now I have an extra if anyone near Charlottetown should need one.

Rilla: This is a high-quality product, very sturdy and surely would have worked for us - if it fit on our pipes, which it does not. It’s the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. I’m sure it does what it’s supposed to, but it didn’t work for us so we will have to find another that works with our pipes. Make sure you check the sizing before you purchase. Otherwise great product.

Win Win: I bought this on top of my Luxe Bidet as I read the complementary one is of poor quality. It seems like good quality, but you need your own spanner to install this, as the spanner that came with it doesn't fit this adopter. Also, it is odd that the shut-off valve is at the inner back of the unit once installed...it would have been great if they design it so it faces outwards, as it is super awkward to reach the shut off valve.

Never Too Old To Learn: I bought both this Luxe T-adapter and also the "Bella Bidet Solid Brass Metal T-adapter" and used them with the Neo Bidet 180 (I put one in each of our two bathrooms). The Luxe is much higher quality. The screw-on parts are longer on the Luxe. After you screw on the top to the connection at the bottom of your toilet tank, this T-adapter still swivels freely, so you can have your opening and also your shut-off valve right where you want them. That works really well, so you can connect the flexible metal water tube over to the bidet. Make sure you have everything lined up correctly, and don't screw this on crooked. Also, tighten it all by hand, and then give just a little tightening with your wrench. If you tighten it too much, it will leak! The little post sticking out is the water pressure valve for the bidet, not for the toilet tank. If you keep the post straight down, that is off (no water getting through to the bidet). If you turn the post all the way up, it will stick out to the side, perpendicular. That is full water pressure. We found that the water pressure was too strong when on full. So, this allows you to adjust the water pressure to just what you like. The bidet allows...

K T.K T.: I saw reviews before buying this product and many people were having problems with leaking. But early in the morning, you don't want high water pressure on your sensitive parts. I bought two of these. One installed no problems, the other was leaking from top and bottom, tried many times. The only difference between the two setups was my original supply cables (see photos). The Rona supply cable just won't screw all the way up (tried many times, gently.., used tape, etc.). I finally changed it with one from Home Depot. It has worked well since then (about 1 month). So the question is why the original setup with the Luxe supplied plastic T-adapter working well with the Rona cable, but this metal T-adapter would not? I know that I didn't messed up the threads because once I re-used the plastic T-adapter, there was no leaking using Rona cable.

Not impressed, wasted lots of time. I would say that if you are having leaking problems, take this adapter to the store and screw it on and make sure you get good 4-5 turns before buying a new supply line.

Jonathan Markevich: Compared to the plastic adapter, this is considerably larger and more solid. I needed to set this just the tiniest fraction away from fully closed in order not to get a strong jet from the bidet. It must be that the pressure in my apartment is fairly high. Your mileage may vary. I would have liked some finer control but I'm not sure how they could accomplish that (a wider hose?)

I needed to be careful not to crossthread this on the tank, at first it wanted to go on a little angled, but with some persistence it was easy to feel when it was on properly. I suspect the other reviewer might have done this and accidentally cut the plastic threads on the tank. When installing, make sure you can easily hand tighten it a fair bit (a few turns) before using a wrench.

I have seen many people state that the valve cuts off the tank water. It absolutely does NOT. Test it this way. Turn it completely closed so the bidet is cut off. Flush the toilet... the tank still fills! There may be some confusion because there is a mechanism inside the device that may slightly obstruct water going straight through (top to bottom) so it may *slow down* the tank filling, but only marginally. I...

AmzCustomerAmzCustomer: I installed the Luxe Neo 120 bidet of my elongated American Standard low flush toilet. The toilet itself is amazing but the seat that came with it is an absolute piece of cheap lightweight plastic junk. I thought for certain I would need a new seat. I must have lucked out because the Neo 120 installed perfectly with that seat and without the optional rubber seat-bumpers that Luxe sells. The installation was a total breeze.

I also purchased this “Luxe Metal T-adapter with Shut-off Valve” even though some reviews weren’t so favorable. It shuts supply water off ONLY feeding the bidet and NOT the toilet. This is a very solid and heavy shut-off device, does not feel cheap in any way. This very high quality shutoff gives added security of knowing the supply water into the bidet can be shut off quickly & easily when not in use. I live alone and do not want to come home to a flood. (Many times though I’ve forgotten to shut it off for a day or two and feel fully confident in the high quality of the bidet itself.) I highly recommend this option for peace of mind. It's operation is "smooth as butter" and I love the simplicity of it. It is a 1/4 turn valve from fully open...

Carol M. Rogers: My toilet does not have a shut-off valve and I have not been able to loosen the fitting at the floor to the stainless steel flex hose to add one. So I really needed a way to adjust the pressure. This shut-off valve is well made but it did not come with a rubber gasket for where it attaches to the underside of the toilet. I tried using the gasket that came with the plastic valve but it leaked like crazy. The plastic valve and the metal valve are configured differently at this connection. So I dug around in my plumbing stuff for a cone shaped gasket -- more like what was on the stainless steel flex hose that had been attached to the underside of the toilet. This worked perfectly. No more leaks! BTW the directions for the bidet show a cone shaped gasket but that is not what you get. The gasket that comes with the bidet and the plastic tee is shaped more like a hollow top hat.

So, if I decide to order a second bidet for my other bathroom (also no shut-off valve) I will be sure and get a cone shaped gasket that fits this metal tee before I start my installation.

Update May 1, 2014: The Luxe folks contacted me through Amazon after my review went live. They said I should...
