JenMac: I found this book very well written but it just wasn't what I was hoping for. I went in wanting stories of happy relationships and love but found this book to be more about the author's hook-ups and personal problems. It was good but not the feel good book I wanted.

Amazon Customer: I loved this book. It was very relatable to my life as a 20 something year old and the things I’ve learned along the journey. It feels good to know I’m not alone. 🤍

Dalton O: Everything I Know About Love is meant to be a candid exploration of one woman's experiences with love, friendship, and growing up. While it promises a relatable and humorous account of navigating the complexities of relationships, it ultimately fell short for me due to the protagonist's self-indulgent and often unlikable behavior. I picked this up because I feel young and stupid and I wanted a book that would tell me how to be better, or at least offer some empathy and relatability to the stupid issues that are consistent for women in their twenties. I did not find that here.
The memoir is structured as a series of personal anecdotes that offer glimpses into the author's life, from teenage years to adulthood. Through the lens of her own experiences, Alderton delves into the highs and lows of romantic relationships, the bonds of friendship, and the trials of self-discovery. The writing is witty and conversational, making it easy to dive into her world. And I really wanted to like it.
However, the main stumbling block for me was the characterization of the author herself. While it's not uncommon for memoirs to feature flawed protagonists (because, duh, real people...

Mark Bau: What a gem this book is. Dolly could be the love child of Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain and David Sedaris. Her writing really is that good. I'm a 60 year old bloke who seems to read a lot of serious stuff. This book was a huge gulp of fresh air. I was literally laughing out loud at many scenes and then when Dolly got onto the death of her best friends sister I was literally crying. If Dolly is the future of writing it is in good hands.

Maria: More than just an autobiography. You go on a journey through time with Dolly. Lots of nostalgia if you’re a late 80’s / 90’s baby. Should be made in to a movie (the TV series did it hardly any justice).
Well done, Dolly. I can see what it’s won so many awards.

OBR: A really honest look into her life and how it’s shaped her. I didn’t get drawn in by it but I enjoyed the read.
