Kindle Customer: An interesting whodunit told from the perspective of a child. Although he was 16, at times he seemed more like 12. Lots of red herrings and humour and no loose ends.

Allyson M. W. Dyar: I really enjoyed the first book in this series but I found myself having to slog through this book. It could have been an interesting story and a chance for readers to see Christopher (Lord Edginton's grandson) at his boarding school, the Oakton Academy for Distinguished Young Gentlemen.
During the final day of school, a teacher is found murdered by Christopher. Of course, even though he's totally retired, Lord Edgington can't resist trying to discover the culprit ably assisted by his daughter and Christopher.
As I mentioned, I liked the first book but I didn't find the second book as interesting. Unless the remaining books in the series are on sale (or free), I don't see myself continuing the series.

mc: The second book is even more delightful than I could have imagined and I'm so looking forward to reading the rest of the series which I've already purchased. So many red herrings, motives, suspects, and twists of plot. Brilliant writing! The characters are gradually developing and Chrissy is spreading his investigative wings under the watchful eye of his grandfather in a loving yet humorous way. I love the addition of the 'crime seasoned' sisters....that should add a new dimension in his lordship's house. Our canine friend Delilah breaks the tension with her activities and just love her too! Definitely a series to purchase and follow.

Amazon Kunde: Since it's not possible to give 10 stars I have to give 5 instead...These two are exceptionell gorgious and I liked every minute. I am so looking forward to the next case! This series is definitively the best that I heard \read! I can say the same about the reader, it's just a pleasure to listen. Every character has got an own voice, this ja simply phantastic.

SoCal ReviewerSoCal Reviewer: Ex-Scotland Yard superintendent Lord Edgington is back in the second book of Benedict Brown’s delightful mystery series. What starts out as an ordinary parents day at grandson Chrissy’s Oakton Academy turns into a crime scene when Chrissy stumbles upon the murdered headmaster, a strict disciplinarian. Brown’s inspired choice to make Chrissy the narrator allows for some of the humor and humanity in the series to shine through. Chrissy is far from popular at Oakton and is certainly not the best student. Seeing him in class, doing detention, flailing at sports, and talking to his classmates at meals and assembly spotlight the teen’s awkwardness. This also enables us to meet the teachers and staff who will become the eventual suspects.
While A Body At A Boarding School can be enjoyed without having read Murder At The Spring Ball, it’s better when read in series order. Chrissy has matured a little since the first book, and now tries to minimize his inappropriate comments as he investigates alongside his formidable grandfather. Dim witted Inspector Blunt is back but seems more agreeable in allowing Edgington’s involvement. I missed the level of conflict between...

sj: I was shown a review of the first book in this series, intrigued I downloaded it on kindle.
Finished the second one and can't wait to try the third.
I thoroughly recommend for the fabulous language and period detail.
I'd love to know if Chrissy ever gets to be a detective himself!
