Scott L: Works far better than the TP-Link TL-WN823N 300Mbp and Wifi Adapter AC 600Mbps Wireless that I had originally bought. Holds a strong signal, fast speed, and doesnt need to be reinstalled every time i reboot unlike the other 2 products mentioned.

Amazon Customer: EDIT: This adapter is not compatible with Windows 10! I cannot upgrade to the newest version of Windows 10!
From the images, I assumed that the adapter would be equipped with USB 3.0 (since the images of the USB adapter has the blue USB port), however, this is not the case. The USB adapter is actually USB 2.0, just to clarify.
Functionality: Simple set-up. Insert the included disc into your optical reader, and begin setting up the drive. It takes 1 minute to complete.
Performance: Works as described, maybe even better. I have a residential internet speed of 60mbps, and this adapter tested at 66.56mbps while my previous adapter only got below 55mbps.
Practicality: Perfect for any PC (Laptops, Towers, All-In-Ones). Its' a simple USB drive which is easily hidden if you can plug it into the back of a PC. No extra cords needed. For this price, its a good alternative to purchasing a WiFi card for your PC or routing an Ethernet cable through your home.

Scouting in VT: I was hesitant to use a dongle setup like this because I was afraid my desktop PC would block the WiFi signal, given the placement of my Comcast router. But it comes with an extension cable and docking station so I could set it up without it hiding behind my PC.
I had read recommendations here to download the driver from the Linksys website, but that will only upgrade a previous installation. It won't install the driver from nothing. So you have to use the CD that's provided. Once I did, it prompted me through all the steps. The only trick was I had to plug the dongle directly into my PC the first time, so it would be recognized. After that, I could move it to where I wanted. It found my wifi network right away and said both the 2.5Mhz and 5Mhz access points were available. I signed into the 2.5Mhz access point and once I got the password in, it was all set.
Performance is SPECTACULAR, much better than the Powerline networking I was replacing. Download speed was up to 112 Mbps and upload speed was standard 12.8 Mbps via the speedtest . net site. That's more than twice as fast as I was getting before, though the ping (latency) seems a little longer at...

Sunit Kumar Nandi: The Cisco AE2500 is a great adapter that features:
1. Awesome speed/throughput of 300 Mbps
2. Slim size which fits USB ports even in the nooks and crannies of a computer
3. Doesn't heat up like other adapters
However, this is a product which works only and specifically on Windows. There is no official support for this adapter for Linux and Mac. However, Linux users may have some success with ndiswrapper.
If you are a Windows user, especially into gaming, streaming and downloading, then this adapter is right for you.
If you use Linux or own a Mac, stay away from this and buy something else.

SpeedingCheetah: I originally had bought the Asus USB-N53 adapter...but discovered it wasn't a 3 stream antenna model. I have an Asus RT-N56U router which can do N450 on 5ghz.
The Cisco feels much more durable and sturdy than the Asus adapter I had. By the picture, this Linksys looked to me as if the thing itself was make out of rubber, but its not, only a hard plastic. But it feels very sturdy and of high quality materials. Feels better than most flash drives.
Much better signal. I am picking up more networks and, since it has 3 internal antennas, I get my N450 link speed. File transfer from my wired gigabit server to my laptop over wifi is a steady 24-25MB's, which is the average max usb 2.0 real world speed. Definitely better connection and a tad bit more speed than my laptop's card, Intel Advanced N 6235. I also like how the Blue LED light on this Linksys stay solid when idle and blinks when active....it's a bit bright though...(almost death-beam).
The Cisco "Connect" software, (Get from their website) WORKS in WIN 8, but you have to set it to COMPATIBILITY MODE for Windows 7. Or, just download the .zip file of the drivers from website, and use device manager to manually...

Dennis L. Enderson: To get optimum performance out of a Dual-Band Wireless-N router, you need to get Dual-Band Wireless-N adapters. There are plenty of Wireless-N adapters out there, all of which brag about being up to the "latest standard" and offering "blazing fast" WiFi performance. However, if you have a Dual-Band router, you are throttling your maximum connection speed down to no more than 130 Mbps unless you spend a little more and get the right kind of WiFi adapters. The Linksys AE3000 will do the job very well for an excellent price.
Mine was out of the box, plugged in, installed and running in less than 5 minutes. I did not use the CD that came with the adapter. I downloaded the current driver software from the Linksys website and unzipped it on my hard drive. When I plugged in the adapter, I directed Windows to use these files to locate the appropriate driver. My system happens to have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium installed, so I chose this driver package from the website.
The AE3000 initially connected on my D-Link DIR-825 router's 2.4 GHz band at 130 Mbps, just like an ordinary Wireless-N adapter. I have the router configured such that the SSID is "invisible"...
