Lifetime 1558: 52-Inch Portable Basketball Hoop with Adjustable Height for Kids and Adults

Lisa P: I was hesitant to order this for my son based on some of the reviews about the terrible instructions, but then I realized that those were all much older reviews. Lifetime must have been listening, because the new instructions are EXCELLENT!! There is a great parts list that breaks everything down by what step the parts are required for. And then the instructions themselves are step by step with pictures of what parts are required and how to put them together. It probably took us 4 hours total to put this together, and definitely requires 2 adults (or one adult and teenage son!). The system itself is very sturdy after assembly. We put water in the base, which for us seems like plenty of weight, and is easily moved by 2 of us. Height adjustment is also very easy, and my 12 year old son had no trouble going back and forth between heights.

My ONLY complaint with this product is the flimsy packaging. Although, it did not affect my rating of the product! The box that Lifetime (not amazon) uses for the system is very thin for the weight of the product. There is also very little styrofome to separate the pieces so that they are allowed to roll around freely in the box. So much so...

dj mark: good product,i would of gave it 5 stars if some of the poles didnt come scratched up in the box and one of the poles was sticking out side of the box,i fixed the scratches with some black tuch up paint from the hard ware store and the second problem i had was the top two bolts that go threw the outter back bord threw the two metel vertical left and right support frames on the back of the back board was too small,the bolts should have been longer to be able to go threw the outter back bord,to the inner back bord and threw the two metel left and right support frames with no problem,i had to bend the left and right frames on the back board to be able to connect the other two steel support brackets,that gos on the left and right side of the back of the back board,so the bolts can go all the way threw, so you will be able to put nuts on both of them.or you can spend a couple of dollars and go to the hard ware store and buy two longer bolts.but other then those two problems,it wasnt that bad to put together,the instructions was pretty good to understand,just make sure you read the structions as you are putting it together,do not jump from page to page and try to hurry and put it...
