Leonie Mulcahy: I love how she is able to expand the world that Anita inhabits while also having only a few characters in the book. Another great read, and great linking story for the continuation of the overall theme of the books.

Kindle Customer: I've been reading Laurell's books for years. I restated the series with the paperbacks I still have. I finally got to book 16 and didn't own that copy anymore. The reread was incredible. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to rediscover more.

Marquez: Yes the first couple of chapters are nothing but sex, but so is Anita! If you’ve read the previous books in the series you’d know and expect this. The rest actually hits home. A man missing his sons whole life for a secret. Anita gaining power and giving some to others. Jason all wrapped up in everything, oh and Richard loosing it! Tantalizing as ever Ms. Hamilton. Will the next book be just as intriguing? Bet on it.

Deborah.: All of the Anita Blake books are a guilty pleasure, a really addictive series!
Anyone who likes beautiful & sexy vampires need look no further.
The "Merry Gentry" series also by Laurell K Hamilton is another addictive read. In total I have read and re read both sets multiple times and I enjoy every page!

Symone: This book coming straight off the back of Harlequin was a wonderful change of pace. Where Harlequin was all vampire mystery and suspense, Blood Noir is very emotional.

I loved the character development between Anita and Jason. This is book 16 in the series and we are still growing and changing with Anita. It is the highest compliment to Hamilton that Anita hasn't grown stale and her companions are also growing and developing. When we first meet Jason in the series he is a far cry from the young man Anita accompanies home in Blood Noir. Jason's backstory grows even more intriguing as we learn of his family and home life as a child.

vamp lover: A huge fan of the 'Anita Blake' series,Hamilton did a fab job as usual. My only comment that keeps this from 5star rating was that Anita was not as gutsy, leaning toward timid for her.But I am sure she will be back with renewed oomph. Can't see why people who have a problem with sex scenes would read an Anita Blake book this far into the series, the ardeur aint going way.I love the sex scenes, have no issue if the author is acting out her fantasies-good for her.If you are uptight about sex in books don't read the later books, but I enjoy the way Hamilton writes about sex,no silly words(velvet sheath etc)like the romance novels, just good fantasy fun.I love the series and long may Anita carry on!Keep them coming Laurell!

Amy BA: I really enjoy these books - whereas some readers don't enjoy the direction that Anita's life has taken - it's all part and parcel of the way things are.

I have to say that her life gets more and more difficult. The sexual aspect of the story is HOT - although I found it humerous that she did experience a - well - I can't go there - that would ruin it for others.

Basically, I do wish that she would do a little more hunting - go back to being as dangerous as she was - Obsidian Butterfly and her story there with Edward was one of the scariest books that I've ever read. Her ties to that Vampire there are one of the reasons that her power is coveted.

I like how all the books are tied together - expanding on the relationships and going deeper into the psyche of the characters as well as the lives of them all...This story focuses on Anita's relationship with Jason. Richard is still himself in this story but Anita really helps him out - again, why ruin the story.

Her love, loyalty and friendships toward all her ongoing relationships continue to expand and her thoughts are further delved into. Her conflicting thoughts and her resentment towards the ardouer...

Virgil L. Fuqua III: Today is the audio book Blood Noir by Laurell Hamilton, it was abridge.

I am reviewing this because (1)I got it,(2) I listen to it, even if by accident, my vision is getting pretty bad. So when I ordered it from amazon, I did not notice that it was (audio book) in fine print. One of my pet peeves in college was lectures, I mean if they wanted me to learn something why did the not put it in the book? I have always been a visually oriented person. So now I am going blind I am fighting it with special software, magnifying glasses and anything to improve my sight. I really have never thought of audio books, so I got this one and for a week it set there. Finally I was all caught up on the internet, and had nothing else to do, so I put the first disc in the player. There were 6 disc with 96 tracks on each disc and just like I expected from reading excerpts on her web site the first 40 tracks are audio porn. GAG a maggot this is bad enough reading it, but now it was like listening to telephone sex!! I really started skippping till I got to a part where there was some of the story.

I was good go then, I have since gone to my Border Book and Music stores and browsed the book...

Kindle Customer: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've always liked Jason and since Cerulean Sins I have wanted to know Jason's history. While this book is out of the norm for Anita Blake fans that is what I find intriguing and keeps me coming back for more. You never know what direction Anita will take and that is what is fun about the series. I like surprises and there are always new ones in store from LKH.

The book is mostly about Jason and his background, why he is where he is, what caused him to make the decisions he did, and why he is estranged from his family. Also, his insight is amazing. He always lets Anita know what she needs to know and can get away with it without making her mad, usually. This book was no exception to that. He told her some truths about her role as Human Servant and what needed to be done.

While most of the book centers on Anita and Jason and how their relationship is evolving, you do get some insight into the other main men in Anita's life and that is always a pleasure. Micah and Jean-Claude are consistent and because of the events in this book there will be more from them I'm sure. Nathaniel is coming into his own and becoming a strong personality....
