Big Steve from Seymour (by Gawd) Texas:
It does work, which is why it gets three stars from me. But it doesn't work well. I bought this because it reads outside temperature and barometric pressure with history. I'm a fisherman. I want to know if the pressure is going up, down or staying the same.
This thing wastes way too much space with things that I don't need such as time, day, month, and the stupid, stupid man on the left side.
I can see the present barometric pressure fairly easily. The history is a joke. There's a button on the back labeled history. Press it once, and it shows you the pressure for the previous hour. Press twice for two hours ago. And so on. Not what I need at all. There is also a display beneath the barometric pressure in the very left hand bottom corner. I suppose that is supposed to be history too, but it doesn't match what I get when I press the history button. Plus, whatever labels it has are much too tiny to see.
The last complaint I have is that the display is unclear if you look at it straight on. To see it clearly, you have to look at it from above. Strange, but true.
All in all, I wasted my money. This gives me nothing that I...

Yangers5: For this for my dad who likes to know the sun up and down times, it is pretty accurate and he loves it so I do recommend

David H.:
I'm rarely so ambivalent about things.
The good: It seems to fairly accurately report temp, humidity and pressure.
-That's hard to find. It's interesting to have a forecast based on the pressure and nothing else. The forecast is reasonably accurate
The bad: -It displays an error when it goes below zero celsius. It can display those temperatures in Fahrenheit but not Celsius.
-The display is poor. There is a narrow viewing angle which makes it hard to read sometimes.
-The stupid fisherman is not helpful.
I've decided to keep it so it meets the ultimate test but it is deeply flawed.
-I wish there was a way to mount it. The unit has its own stand which sticks out making it difficult to mount.

Otto Freischer:
First of all I would like to debunk all of the negative feedbacks this wonderful little weather station has received. It seems to me that the biggest complaint is on the barometer not working"right out of the box". I too had that assumption when I first began using it. It was reading 29.18 when my other units,(both analog and digital) were reading 29.91 or close to it and the weather service agreed with my other unit's readings. I went back and reread the instructions and found that the reading from the unit isn't the pressure reading we are all used to seeing. It is measured in ABSOLUTE not RELATIVE pressure. For those of you that don't know the difference,(I was one until I did some further research) here is the difference:
Absolute Pressure
Absolute barometric pressure is a comparison of how much pressure is exerted by the atmosphere compared to a vacuum, a space where there are no gases at all. The air pressure in a vacuum would be zero, since there are no gases to exert pressure on objects. Absolute barometric pressure is used primarily in scientific studies and industrial applications requiring precise data. Measurements known as...

coffee diva: This had all the features we wanted within the budget we'd set. Delivery was quick and item well packaged. Set up instructions were easy to follow and didn't take any time at all. Be sure to place it under a roof or eave as the outside humidity reader can't have any substance on top of the reader (in our case, a dusting of snow....when it was removed, the humidity reading came back). Like many other reviewers, we aren't so enamoured with the 'fisherman' motif, but it is kind fun to work with him...we've named him Fred. Comes with alarms - one lets you know if it is going to frost which might be helpful for gardeners in Zone 8 where frost doesn't happen very often! Also wish it had more 'backlight' but for the price and compared others, I think this one is a great buy.

I looked at over a dozen clock/weather stations, for over 2 months. Some looked good, but each seemed to be lacking in one or two areas. So I held off on my purchase. When I happened upon this La Crosse, I bought it the next day.
It had the features I wanted: atomic time; in/outdoor temp & humidity; barometric pressure; Date (displayed as "10/21", not "10.21"); day of week; and back lighting (although listed as "LED", it has a nice even amount of lighting, seems as good as an "EL" back lighting); AND all of these items are always being displayed(no extra buttons to push to see the day of week..).
It also has some of what I call "nice to haves": time of sunrise/sunset; and phase of the moon (not important to me). Although watching the sunset get about 3 minutes earlier each of these October nights, is sad.
The item was much simpler to set up than some older versions from La Crosse, and it found the atomic signal w/i an hour (even in the afternoon). The only nuisance with the set up was selecting my city (for the sunrise/sunset times). Maybe I didn't follow the directions, but I had to cycle through a long list before I got to mine. The...

Amazon Customer: I purchased this for my husband, he's big on fishing. It does everything it says it does and fairly easy to program. I'm glad I made this purchase.
