Jay1989: This off brand power probe is fantastic! I Work in a shop with 4 other techs . Them having power probe branded and a snap on branded electrical testers and stand by them . But the cost of over $150 for a power probe brand and over $300 for the snap on branded testers was a bit much to choke down for a tool I use maybe 2-3 times every few weeks . So thought I’d give this one a shot and I’m not disappointed in my decision. Life is expensive enough don’t put your self in debt on a tool truck buy this and stay off that tool truck not about that $50 dollars a week for the rest of your life !

Clinton C.: Product seems ok, took me a little bit to figure out all the features. My biggest complaint is the short ground cord attached to the unit......it needs to be much longer, I am constantly having to add an extension when using the unit to power up a component that I'm troubleshooting

Jeff: I’m a professional mechanic and have used power probe products for the past 15 years and was happy with them until the power probe 4, constant problems, then failed. I purchased this one in hopes it would do well with electrical troubleshooting and it has. It works excellent, is accurate, well built, and cost effective.

Chris: As an Automotive professional brought this to replace my original power probe, thought it would be useful to display the different voltage on vehicles as opposed to just + & - V. Used everyday for last 2 weeks on approx 10 jobs per day and has performed fine, has 2 LED's that come on as soon as powered up that at first I found annoying but have to admit are quite useful, easy to probe into looms (beeps let you know when contact made). Only point I would make is having been a tech for many years tool does feel a bit cheap and lightweight, as opposed to just chucking this back in toolbox when finished I keep it out of the box on the dashboard of my van, and so far all ok I wouldn't think it would last long rolling about with other tools in a drawer, on the positive side leads are good quality and with the extension cable you could easily walk around an artic cab and trailer.

The tester came in a cardboard outer sleeve. Once removed you will find a hard-plastic case that holds the tester unit and the accessories.
Upon opening the box you notice how well the unit is fitted in there with a nice thick foam insert in the lid.
First Look
Looking at the unit you see how well it looks and some of the nice design features it has with the colour screen and the removable probe along with a massive 20ft extension cable.
It has all the connections you need, Direct from the battery or from the included lighter socket adapter.
First use
The unit was powered by the lighter socket and booted up into the menu in a second.
You are presented with a nice clear colour display and 4 menu options at the top of the screen. The unit has 2 led's on the top of it giving you some light to work with.
You select the menu option with the round menu button on the device.
The menu runs through the following settings
DC Voltage, AC Voltage, Resistance and Diode
Just press the menu button until you see the correct screen.
With the probe in DC Voltage it allows you to read the DC Voltage of a circuit
