petiteyaya: I rarely like mixes that are add water only. I find the flavor is off but more importantly the consistency is not the same as the mixes where you add eggs and oil along with the water. I think the water only mixes are more rubbery. I guess I didn’t read the details and it was a surprise that this was a “quick” mix. So it was a pleasant surprise that it came out tasting really good. It rose nicely and was soft and light. It lasted one day and I was tempted to bake the second box right away. Of course the streusel topping is addictive and crunchy and the combination of soft and crunchy is sublime.

writer-jmwriter-jm: There is a family recipe that dad and I used to make every now and then. We took unbaked biscuits and dipped them into melted butter and cinnamon sugar mix.
A few years back, I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy. Biscuits and cinnamon rolls were lost to me.
Recently, I saw this item and got excited to give it a shot. It took a bit of effort from myself and mom to get it ready, but when it was done, wow! It tastes exactly like the cinnamon biscuits! I am in awe of getting this flavor back in my life.

JoeInTampa: So easy, just stir egg, oil and a bit of water to the batter, which is in one envelope, spread half of it in a baking pan, dust half of the cinnamon mix on top and then drop the remaining batter by spoonsful on that. Spread the cinnamon on top and draw a fine knife blade through it to create swirls. It smells so good while baking and tastes even better. I have been using this mix for a few years and love it. I do not like cake. (I know, that's kind of un-American), but I love this crumb cake -- called coffee cake where I grew up in the upper midwest. Delicious.

Precise Disarray: I love this Krusteaz Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Cake & Muffin mix. I don't mind making things from scratch, but for less than $2 on Amazon, I can keep some boxes of these in my panty and quickly whip up a non complicated yet delicious dessert. It is so easy to make, and the outcome is consistent every time I make it. I does really well being made in my convection toaster oven and I can follow the time and temp to a t, and it turns out perfectly.
On the back of one of the boxes there is a recipe to make it Le Leche, where instead of making a middle layer of crumb (with some also sprinkled on top) as per original directions, you just mix everything together and bake it. Extra easy! Once done, you poke holes all over and pour a can of condensed sweetened milk on top. Put in fridge to set. OH MY.. if you haven't tried it that way, it really makes this an indulgent, sweet, gorgeous looking cake. Yum yum yum!
I haven't tried this in muffin form- I seem to just like making the cake. "Easy to make, hard to put down". Indeed!
There is a Gluten Free option, which is just as good.. the box is blue and in giant letters will state Gluten free. This is not gluten free.
