lilybell77: The media could not be loaded.  We got this tank for my sons fair fish. It’s made of plastic so it is easy to clean. I broke the smaller glass tank while cleaning it as I usually just dump water out and refill it in my sink. I usually leave the fish in the tank while I do this as I dont dump all the water out. I dump out half add it back and repeat with water from the tap that’s the same temp. The fish seems to like the excitement as it’s is bored most of the time. As for the tank ….The plastic is easy to wipe clean and very clear. It is also more spacious then a regular fish bowl. We like it a lot!

Peter J. Schulte: We bought the colorful gravel and a "sculpture" representing three flat rocks, with one lying like a bridge across two others standing on edge. This gives our fish a choice of places to hide, play and sleep. He's happy in this copious tank! We put in some faux undersea vegetation as further decoration. He has a large variety of routes to swim around during the day. We think that he really likes his home.

We had to take the female out after he had chewed off part of her bottom fin. The plan is to get her a female companion who won't fight. We'll use this two-gallon tank for them and put the male into the oversize vase that the female is in now.

Of course we are pumping bubbles into both to keep them oxygenated. The sales person pointed out that these betta are "puddle jumpers," accustomed to small dirty bodies of water. So we only clean the aquariums for our own esthetic satisfaction, not every week. We do swap out a lot of the water and replace it every week. This tank stays clean, looking great! Highly recommend.

JacquelineJacqueline: I was gifted my first betta as a Christmas gift along with a 1/2 gallon tank. After my research and self dismay it was clear a .5 gal tank is cruel. I needed to upgrade my tank however wanted to save up and do some research before buying a whole set up. My lil guy is only about a inch long (fins excluded) so this will do for a while.
No, it's not flimsy. Holds water just fine. I enjoy the unique shape. Now the cons; The bottom is not level. You'll need more substrate. It's best to set this on a leveling matt or some thin cushion surface. I used a small piece of cardboard. There is no top. The company does show this on their site with a top but I could not find it for sale anywhere. My betta has never jumped, still I keep the water level below the surface to be safe.
I recently placed in a small 25w heater with no issues. I've only had this for about 2 weeks so can't say if it will opaque as others have mentioned.
Over all very happy with this purchase. Inexpensive grow out tank, weekly water changes/cleanings still easy to manage.
This would also make a great gift if you know a betta needing a bigger home.

catalina: When my package arrived, I thought for sure my bowls would be broken, even though they are plastic. My amazon box was completely torn down the side and it was very visible what was in the box. If i had to rate my package care, i couldn't because that is how bad it was. When I got my tanks out (i got 2), i was disappointed because how flimsy they felt. I also did not read into the reviews very well until I actually received them. I was skeptical at first but i paid for two and did not want to go through the hassle in returning them so I tried them out and was not disappointed anymore! I am using them for my betta's and i adore them! They are very large and spacious. I am happy with my purchase.

Lovell_LadyLovell_Lady: This fish tank is very unique. I love the fact that it doesn't weigh a ton when filled with water, making it easier to move from place to place. Add the fact that it has a very small footprint & appears to be absolutely leak free, you really can't go wrong for $18.00.

There is absolutely nothing flimsy about it at all & it certainly doesn't even come close to the crushable plastic used in water bottles. As a matter of fact, once filled with water, it is as sturdy as a glass bowl, but much lighter. A plus as far as I'm concerned.

The 4 star rating is due to the fact that it did not come with a lid, which seems unusual to me, as Betta's & Goldfish are know jumpers.

Otherwise, I am very content with the tank & will become creative in making a lid that will fit. LOL...
