Robert Wray: Cost effective sensor. Works well. Good performance. Should consider adding some percentage as surface moisture likely less than penetrating tong versions. A useful tool at identifying potential interior house issues.

Calvin: I am doing a crawlspace encapsulation project, and I needed something to verify the moisture of the joist and subfloor. My first device came dead on arrival. I tested the enclosed 9v battery and it tested fine. The device screen would not power on but would make consistent beeping sounds. Initiated a replacement with amazon. Had another device in a couple days, and it has been working really well for my use-case. Would recommend.

Neal: So I tested this tool on the exterior wall of our 1960's brick build semi-detached house. I can see the tar DPM on the brick line near to the ground. As expected on masonary setting the bricks below the DPM are Over Limit so they are full of moisture. I knew this would be the case, there are salt deposits on the brick level immediately below the DPM so this shows that evaporation is happening and the mineral salt is left behind. Above the DPM the value drops down significantly from 50% down to roughly 20% and then the lowest its gets it about 12-15% about a meter up the wall. This is an expected result. However when I move inside the house, the kitchen walls, apparently OL readings all over the wall from the floor to the ceiling. I can only assume this must be something to do with the painted finish? I also check the hallway internal brick wall and the same Over Limit reading. We do not have an issue with blistering or mould in this house, so I can only assume that the tool is giving a false reading, but why this is I am unsure, I can only put it down to the paint finish.

Clark: After hurricane Ian all 11 floors of our beachfront condo were flooded when a roof vent blew off. The Homeowners associating mandated immediate action to remove wet flooring and drywall. I ordered this moisture meter from Amazon and got it the same day. Right after a major hurricane. Amazon is a lifesaver. I was able to measure and mark every wall surface in my unit to determine which had to be ripped out and which could be saved. It is virtually idiot proof. There is a numerical reading of moisture in percentage, as well as a bar graph, and most importantly an audible alarm for excessive readings. Using the audible alarm alone I was able to quickly find wet areas, even when reaching behind furniture or appliances where the display was not visible. I would have rated this product five stars were it not for the useless 9V battery that was shipped with it, which lasted only 2-3 minutes. Luckily I had read that this was the case in other posted reviews, so I took a spare when I used it for the first time. Also as noted in other reviews, the need for a screwdriver to remove and change the battery is a negative design feature.

Nick s.: 5 stars because the price was great especially considering It’s made by Klein tools. I loveee my Klein tools, and I own a lot of them. Functionality & features are so easy and nothing confusing or unnecessary about it. Looks great. Seems consistent with the readings it gives ( testing the same area multiple times for instance, you’ll get the same reading, and some might say well duh..but sh!tty tools give likewise Consistency. I can’t tell you how accurate it is, because I only know What’s the tools reads to me, but this style of meter is supposed pretty darn accurate, and I have no reason to believe it’s not. I love the scale it shows, from green to yellow, orange and then red Which All have corresponding percentage values, when it hits red, it gives an audible beep alert. You can pause the reading I believe. I was surprised at how light it was, I usually like all my tools to feel solid and durable but it didn’t bother me. It’s made of strong plastic or nylon, and I’m sure it could handle being dropped and tossed around. Unfortunately I lost this tool over a year ago Probably in a crawlspace ( I’m an HVAC contractor and do lots of residential crawlspace work...
