LovesToReadAnything: I needed this for a camping trip. I'm not sure I understand why the fat is left in the can, but you just scrape it out. However, the meat is very salty, too much so. I don't think I would buy this again, it wouldn't still well enough together for hamburgers since it's already cooked and the salt was through the roof on this meat. Maybe washing it to get rid of the saltiness? All 3 of us eating it agreed we should try something else next time.

Kindle Customer: i was skeptical but bought a few cans for emergencies. well, today i had one and needed some hamburger to make a shepards pie. out of the can it is obviously all ground beef, wrapped with a small layer of white fat, the amt of fat was not alot but i scooped most out and discarded. its very tasty and so easy to use. I will get more and use them for recipes as its much easier than thawing out burger and frying it, though it is more expensive than fresh so wont use it alot. it tastes of cooked burger. the texture is very small mince so wont be good for burgers but great for meat sauces or perhaps meatloaf with extra binders. im impressed, gonna try their other meats now.
