Bobby D: If you value quality of meat over price then I dare you to find overall better quality and variety of cuts of meat than Whole Foods. I have done taste tests with friends where one NY Strip was bought from Whole Foods and the other from another NYC based grocery store chain and the results were very clear. When cooked the same way, to the same temperature with the same spice rubs, the Whole Foods NY strip was preferred unanimously and on multiple occasions.

Teman: This is wonderful steak. It's always been a nice thick cut, flavorful, and tender for a New York strip. There is some variation in quality which is to be expected. But I've rarely been disappointed and often been amazed on how good it is. Sometimes it's five star steakhouse quality.

stuck-in-tuck: Finally got steaks online from Whole Foods that are actually good. Both are almost the same weight and thickness and are evenly cut.

Ordered 1 1/2 pounds and received two steaks instead of one massive cut of brontosaurus. I'm not cooking for Fred Flintstone. Thanks to someone in the meat department for using their common sense.

The problem with receiving one huge steak instead of two (or more) reasonably-sized ones could be eliminated by adding drop-down boxes for the number of steaks wanted and the approximate weight. Would this be so difficult to do, Amazon? For the world's most "customer-centric" company?
