Ketonia Keto Bread Mix - 0 Net Carbs, Easy to Make and Deliciously Low Carb!

Maya and Waffles' Mom: I have only been on a Dirty, Lazy Keto plan for 4 months, but I sure missed my bread. I gave this a try and was so excited to have French Toast and the next day, toast with my eggs. (Sad to get excited about that, but don't judge!) I have not used the mix yet for anything other than the bread. I used my bread machine - basic cycle, medium color - and it turns out great. It is super soft and fluffy. I just got one of those bread slicers because I kept cutting the slices too thick, and that will help me be more able to use to for sandwiches. I much prefer having bread instead of making chaffles for sandwiches. Also, their customer service is exceptional. Any questions I had were answered quickly by John and I really appreciate that. They are a small business and always willing to help and even to come up with new recipes if you ask. I am happy to support them. I do wish the price was lower, but having real toast is worth it. There is a kind of funny taste, but as soon as you put butter or jam on it, it isn't noticeable. I will always have it in my pantry.

Pip: So this is my 2nd time making keto bread. I thought I will try this because of the many good reviews. It doesn't taste like bread that was a mistake. There's no flavor, but it does looks and smells like bread. I think I went in thinking it will taste like the real bread. My first loaf was NuTrail™ - Keto Bread Mix - Only 2g Net Carbs per slice - Makes 1 Large Loaf - Low Carb Food - Easy Baking (13.3 oz) (1 Count) and that tasted good. It was nutty and flavorable, but still did not come close to regular bread.

Max HeadspaceMax Headspace: This is a really great bread substitute. It's good by itself, almost like real bread. It's better toasted, and it's really good as a bread substitute with sandwiches and grilled ham-and-cheese. Makes a beautiful loaf, see photo. I would give it five stars, but I'm saving that fifth star in case I stumble across a keto bread mix that tastes exactly like normal bread. I think that's like searching for a unicorn, but maybe some day...

Barbra: Low carb bread seems like an oxymoron, so this "bread" seems to promise the impossible. The trick with keto breads is to incorporate enough fiber to cancel out the carbs. Since fiber is the closest thing I know to cardboard, the likelihood is any low carb loaf which simulates the consistency of wheat bread is going to taste terrible. I don't know how they do it, but this kneads like bread dough, rises like bread dough, bakes like bread dough and even smells good. It does not taste exactly like bread, but in a sandwich or toasted with butter, it's easy to eat.
The consistency works in a sandwich or roll, behaving just like regular bread. I have tried various keto recipes for bread substitutes, but been disappointed. This product is expensive, yes, but well worth it if you have the occasional yearning for a sandwich, or a hamburger with the bun.
Update: I have continued to use this bread mix on a regular basis and have tried using the dough hook on my stand mixer and my bread machine to do the kneading for me. Both gave good results. The bread machine is my favorite, using a cycle that kneads for 10 minutes, rests for 20 minutes, then starts to knead again, when I stop it...

SandhyaSandhya: I find low carb diets so difficult because bread is my biggest weakness and I always cave. I suck at baking and the last time I tried making my own cauliflower bread, it went from the oven into the trash. This is the BEST keto purchase I've made! It tastes just like whole wheat bread!

The instructions on this were idiot proof. I've seen a few reviews complaining that you need extra products to make it.
Didn't bother me since I read the package instructions on the picture before buying it. I always have butter, eggs and honey at home. Just had to buy the yeast which is cheap anyway. I hate kneading too and still got an airy bread!

I also love that it comes with a good content of protein. As a vegetarian, I get sick of eating eggs and soy. This bread has really boosted my protein intake without having to take a supplement.

UPDATE: definitely needs to be frozen once made. My loaf went bad in 3 days when convered in cling film & foil at room temp. I wish it came with some storage instruction for novel bread bakers.
