KenKen: I didn't have the fit issues some have had, seems like mine may be an updated version because the instructions tell you to remove the top cap and drop the cross tube into the slot and replace the cap. The description says that these are galvanized steel, but both of mine have rust on the inside and it has stained the outside of both posts to where we have to paint them. Galvanized tube isn't supposed to rust any time soon. We have other galvanized posts in the yard for over 20 years and no sign of rust. Mine also came with five screw hooks or whatever they are called, but the instructions don't mention why there are ten nuts in the bag. You have to be careful tightening these, because it's easy to crush the tubes. I also wish the posts were about 4-6 inches longer. If I put them down as deep as it suggests, the cross bar will hit me in the forehead and I'm only 5'-9". They seem to be sturdy, and I hope they last as long as the wooden posts that is getting replaced by these.

Tracy S.: Seriously! This is the best clothes line ever. I ordered 2 poles so I could form a nice long clothes line. Upon opening the box, I thought the plastic cap was missing. When I opened the other box....from the other end, the cap was tucked inside the styrofoam, so I opened the first box from the opposite end and the plastic cap was tucked away in the styrofoam. So be sure to check both ends if you are missing your cap. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble both clothes lines. I then went to Home Depot and decided to get the plastic coated line to use on my clothe line. I decided to put my poles 8 feet apart, so I purchases 10 feet of line. (X's 5 since there are 5 lines) I also picked up some metal clamps to secure the lines. While there I picked up a bag of small gardening rocks and a bag of quick set cement.

When I got home I couldn't wait to sink this baby into the ground. I dug two - 2 feet holes and filled the holes 1/2 way with the gardening rocks. This allowed me to stand the poles up and center them without help. JustaDumbBlondeJustaDumbBlonde: Unless you are using a retractable clothesline, you need to order 2 of these posts. I knew this, but it would seem, from some of the reviews I've read, that folks don't realize this item is a single post.

I'll begin by saying that this t-post is much nicer than I expected and I am delighted with the quality. The powder-coated finish is bright white, smooth, and beautiful. The diameter and strength of the post is great! This will truly last me a lifetime.

Delivered lightning quick, as is always the case with Amazon! I highly recommend that you look at  6 each: Ace Wire Cable Clothesline (74121)  and  Minky Vt86602000 Mega Grip Blue Clothes Pins, 18-Pack . I purchased both and now I look forward to hanging laundry. That particular wire is braided for a low stretch factor, and is covered with PVC sleeve that will not stain your clothes! Nylon rope will pull knits and delicates, and unbraided wire will stretch with load over time. I spent a lot of time researching all of this, so I'm glad to save you all the reading I did.
