KastKing Zephyr Spinning Fishing Reel - Smooth and Powerful Performance for Anglers

Armchair Cptn: Didn't expect this much quality for a $35 1000 size reel. It has very smooth bearings within and smooth drag too. Great quality build and looks durable. Nice compact size for a 1000 and holds a good amount of line.

Kiko: I submerge this under saltwater so many times and it still works. The other expensive reel that I bought with it is now broken (I won’t mention the name). Daiwa is good too, but this one is cheaper, so this is my favorite brand right now.

Bernard Shakey: This is a really nice, well made reel that, in quality of materials and form and function can stand up to any reel out there. I really wanted to keep it, but I was looking for a larger reel for surf casting, so I had to return it because it is definitely too small for larger saltwater fish. If I need a small freshwater reel in the future, this would be one of my first choices.

S. Joiner: Seems pretty good for the price. Not sure the quality is as good as the Daiwa Revros lt, near the same price range or not. That would take regular use of a few years to see how it holds up. But for now I'm really liking it even though I have not fished it yet. if the gears, bail, carbon drag washers etc all hold up reasonably well for several years on the smaller fish I got it for (10lb and under freshwater, 500 model), then it's a keeper. We will see. Based on the good looks, light weight, materials it says it is made of, and the smoothness I feel (with no fish on yet) just turning the handle, I'd have to say just go for it. If it breaks at least I won't cray a river of tears like I would if a Van Stall broke. (Which I can not afford).

Brian: This is an amazing reel. I noticed the price and decided to give it a try. I went for the 3000 version.
I loaded it with 15lb braid on a 6ft6in rod and took it out kayak fishing. After only a few casts I switched it for my go to rig, which is a Pflueger President on the same 6ft6in rod. The Pflueger casts a mile with 15lb braid, the KastKing was just so-so and just didn't cast as far as the Pflueger did using the same lure.
I really wanted to like this reel so I decided to give it another go, but with 10lb braid to a 10lb flourocarbon leader on the same rod. What a huge difference- this thing casts soooooooo far, is super smooth, and is so quiet.
It has become my main rig and has been fantastic. Even casting into the wind with a small rooster tail, this thing just flew, and with a slightly larger lure it went even further.

The Pros:
Wow, this reel looks really good and is super light.
casts a mile, seems to love the 10lb braid.
It is just so smooth.

The cons:
Although it didn't cast as far with the 15lb braid as my Pflueger did, it really wasn't that bad so I am going to say that I don't see any cons to this reel.
