CheeseMouse: This is a feature packed reel for a very good price. Action is smooth, and both the front and rear drags are also very smooth and easy to adjust. Lightweight as expected - and even comes with a backup spool for quick line changes. I found the backup spool extra helpful when I was jetty fishing in very rough water, was fishing from "a distance" due to the waves and had to cut a lot of line due to snags. I am going to have to purchase another one of these in the larger size.

Micca "Grim Reaper" Ca'BriMicca "Grim Reaper" Ca'Bri: I went looking for a quality reel for my new custom rod, & I found this reel on here figuring it would be cheap due to the affordable price point. Most reels I have found in my price range were good, but I was advised by the rod maker (who happens to be family) to only get a 3000 series & no more... so everyone I found was out of my price range except for the low end models which, let's be honest, don't hold up as well as their pricier brethren. But after watching some reviews, I decided to pull the trigger & go with Kast King.
I am so glad I did because what I got felt way more solidly built & crafted than I gave it credit for. I put that on my new rod, & though I haven't caught anything yet... I can say that it's lightweight design is a perfect fit to match the very light rod it is paired to. I can't even tell sometimes that the line is coming off the reel without visual confirmation! it was the best fishing purchase I've made so far (for a beginning angler), & I definitely intend on getting all my reels from them going forward! I will post some pics soon...

Linley RebelloLinley Rebello: I ordered this reel a few days ago and received it on 21st which was very good timing but I can't use it because I received the reel in damaged condition. The bait runner switch is broken into 2 pieces. The highlight of this reel is the bait runner if that doesn't work then it's not worth the price.

winxwenwinxwen: I bought 2 of the Kastking baitfeeder 3000 just to try them. I paired them with my old Penn Allegiance 7’6” inshore rods. The pairing looks perfect and their colors compliment each other like a perfect match. I have had several baitrunner reels from the older Shimano BTR to the newer Baitrunner D and OC. I also owned several Okuma Avenger baitfeeder, Okuma Salina baitfeeder, Okuma Coronado baitfeeder and Okuma Trio baitfeeder as well Daiwa Sealine Black baitfeeder. There was also a Tsunami baitfeeder. So, that being said I am not new to baitrunners. I pretty much sold everything except my Shimano Baitrunners. I currently have a total of 20 Shimano baitrunners of different sizes.
So, back to the Kastking Sharky III baitfeeder. Appearance wise this reel IMO has very attractive cosmetics. I like the shiny black and red colors much more than the Penn Fierce and Daiwa Fuego LT. The spool appears to be machined nicely. I don’t care much about the extra spool but others might find it useful. There’s a lot to like about this reel. The bail wire is thick, the drag clicker is loud as well as the baitrunner clicker. The baitrunner clicker is the loudest among all the baitrunners...

T: Update 12/28/19: Something shifted in the back of my truck and this reel snapped off the rod it was on, right at the reel stem. Now, I am probably going to order it again but I might wait and see if they come out with a new version that fixes the flex issues. I still recommend it for the money but beware that it is weak at the stem. It is my fault the reel broke, but thats what you get when you buy a plastic reel.

Update 5/4/19: So far so good. Reel performed well during the Spring striper run here in the northeast as a bait reel. I have not dunked the reel but it has been sprayed heavily on jetties and in the surf. With a light freshwater rinse afterward the reel has been just fine. For sixty bucks with the baitrunner feature you could do a lot worse IMO. I am considering ordering a second.

I bought this reel because I wanted to try a liveliner/baitfeeder dual drag reel for throwing bait but did not want to take the plunge on a Shimano Baitrunner just yet. I bought these reel to do double duty as a catfish reel and inshore reel for stripers and bluefish. I have used it on four outings since getting it in the mail and it has performed as I would expect for a sixty...

Mw Puleston: Have given this reel a thorough work out over the last six months, mainly for wrasse lure fishing, has stood up well to being scraped and dropped on rocks and soaked in salt water. Build quality is excellent, and looks attractive, the retrieve is smooth and silent, unfortunately the reel is let down by a poor quality clutch, which is difficult to adjust sensitively, and very poor line lay. Have got used to it's deficits, and caught some good fish with it e.g Pike, wrasse and bass.
Have'nt tried the baitrunner capabilities. Good price allowing for it's negative points.

enna: I'm updating this review to 5 Star after re-ordering another reel which has fullilled my expectations of it being a hgh quality product.. Part of my original review and thought process at that time, was that the overall qualty and finish of this reel, had been let down by a faulty component affecting the drag mechanism. Now I have a great reel that boasts any easy to set baitrunner that combines with the sensitive, front and rear drag and a silky smooth wind mechanism that just adds all together to help make fishing easy and fun. Mine's now loaded with line and I'm off to the river - Tight Lines. THIS WAS MY FIRST REVIEW WHICH HAS BEEN READ - After reading the reviews I was dissapointed to have been sent a faulty reel. The The spool was a nightmare to remove and replace and it took me15 minutes to align the slotted discs in the spool head so that it could be slid back onto the spools' spindle and it was, even then, a really tight fit. The rear drag simply clicked left then right and appeared to have no effect on the front drag adjustment at all. I was otherwise very pleased with the overall finish and looks but have been forced to request a refund. Didn't Amazon used to exchange...

Amazon Customer: My partner wanted a fishing reel for his birthday so I thought I'd surprise him and bought this one. When it came he loved it, unfortunately it wasn't big enough for what he wanted (so much for his surprise). This is the only reason I returned. It was collected free of charge the next day by day courier and the money returned to my account the following day. I will certainly use them again, free postage/collection no questions asked.
