The magnets are nothing like the cheaper ones you can get from menards or harbor freight. I had to bolt it to my tool box to keep it from falling off. But I love how it extends and has all the holes for different tools. Great addition to tool box just know you will have to drill holes before buying!

This metal tool holder is much more sturdy than the numerous plastic options. It is understandably more expensive, but I have confidence that it will stay secured to the wall and provide a long service life. The smallest holes are too large for some of my tiny screw drivers. I purchased some plastic plugs and drilled them to hold those tools. They still flop around a bit so I may add tubes in these locations. I do not consider this to be a fault of the tool holder. They cannot anticipate every possible use.

Very strong magnets, great expandability. Have it mounted on a steel storage cabinet and has not slipped or fallen even after being loaded up with screwdrivers, sockets, pliers, etc that are otherwise strewn about in toolbags. But it's still easy enough to pull off for relocation. I would give it a 4.5 because it could've used a cleanup after painting (some over spray flakes coming off which made a small mess), but it's not bad enough to warrant knocking it down to a 4.

Some of the points the others have raised are true. However, it really is stoutly made except that a little weakness in the small side part fully extended. But, it really wasn't made to go fully pulled out or the holes that you can use won't match in the overlap. But, it still held lighter tools there. All tool holders will have a problem with some tools not fitting in them. We have several tool holders and they all have their good and bad points. We got this one because we needed one to fit in a small space. All of our other tool holders are 2 foot long or longer. I don't know how strong the magnetic attachment would be, we mounted this with screws (included). This may not be for everyone, but it worked for us.
