Kloberdanz: Crazy people running all over. I love Stephanie and Lula and the times they have. The mother and grandma are just added fun.

Kindle Customer: I love all of Evanovich's books. I've read all of them and I'm always waiting for the new one. I've read the first twenty plus two or three times. She's my all time favorite author. In first grade, Dick met Jane and Spot started running and I've had a book in my hand ever since. Before I was nine years old, I had read all the Nancy Drew books, the Hardy boys, Tom Swift, Cherry Ames and Sue Barton books available at that time. Stephanie Plum is my favorite of them all.

JULIE FRANKISH: Janet Evanovich has created an absolute gem in Stephanie Plum, not forgetting Lula the ex "Ho". Wonderful, funny laugh out loud funny.

Joan: Everything written by Janet Evanovich is fun to read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Her novels are well written and cleverly plotted. The cast of characters is memorable and entertaining. These books have everything - romance, mystery, and humor. This is the third time I'm reading this series and it's just as compelling as the first time I read it.

Ms. Cr Carew: Another very funny Stephanie Plum story by the brilliant Janet Evanovich.

Boingboing: For those of us who've been 'in it' since book one, finding that Stephanie Plum and her friends and family are still chugging along two dozen books later can come as a bit of a shock. Even though nothing really changes - Rex the hamster is well past the point of getting his long service medal, Stephanie is still wrecking cars and sleeping around, Lola is still squeezing donuts into herself and herself into too-tight spandex, and neither Ranger nor Joe Morelli is holding Stephanie to account for sexual behaviour that was tiring well back in the early books and still seems no closer to being resolved.

Of course, the plots are silly. Of course, the characters are cartoon-like, but if you're on number 24 you're not expecting anything else. This time Stephanie is trying to round up the usual baddies, one of whom seems to be involved with zombies, another has lost his snake (not a euphemism) and yet one more is stalking his wife who just happens to be obsessed with painting gnomes. So nothing too un-Plum there then. Stephanie's mum still drinks too much to cope with Stephanie's granny and there are plenty of trips to the funeral parlour to entertain - but this time there's a big...

Sam: I enjoyed this. There is nothing new here, but I think that's why I keep returning to these books. It's like going into bakery everyday and choosing your favourite pastry. You enjoy it more for the familiarity of knowing what to expect rather than sampling other unknown products.

So as usual Stephanie is rounding up the usual FTA's, Lula is permanently hungry and setting new and unusual fashion trends. Ranger has more cars to give away and anything else our heroine is interested in taking.
Morelli is still sort of with the accident prone Ms Plum. The stalwart mother and the strange grandmother are also featured here.
There is also an appearance from occasional character Diesel, which I got bored of very fast, as it didn't seem to go anywhere, and I couldn't see plotwise how it helped to develop the story at all in anyway.
The villians as usual always know where the leading lady lives, her hampster is still more interested in his can than her, and more vehicles are trashed, whatever !

There's a zombie theme in keeping with popular shows of the moment which I enjoyed for what its worth. A very large snake also takes up a fair amount of the story line. Bad diet...

jeanne adamek: I have a confession to make-- I do not care who Stephanie will choose for her forever love interest, or, I have to admit, if she ever chooses.

That being said I want to state the reason why I picked this book. For every book I read there are probably 10+ books that I desperately want to read but put on the side of a very, very long wish list because I see something in the description that I need or want at the moment. With the Stephanie Plum books the reason is laughter. I have never read a Stephanie Plum story that I didn't have at least one belly aching laugh out loud moment, sometimes even in embarrassing places with everyone that is there with me looking at me strangely.

The story is ridiculous, something that an extremely ordinary person like me (or even most people) never would go through. The characters are quirky, different but exceedingly human and after reading one of these in this series I enjoy most of them. I have read in critics that some find Stephanie too immature and she doesn't grow enough from one book to another. I do not quite see it that way. Yes she has a certain immaturity, but she doggedly goes in situations that she is uncertain of the out...

Danielle: One of your friends makes an unexpectedly hilarious joke at just the right moment, and everyone laughs until they’re leaking bodily fluids. Then the moment passes and everyone gets over it, but the friend liked the attention and keeps trying to tell the joke over and over again or reference it or try to tell similar jokes to the point of seeming desperate for a reaction. In my opinion, Evanovich has become that friend.

I have loved Stephanie Plum and her misadventures for well over a decade, but I am sick and tired of paying to read the same jokes year after year, and in some cases, the same plots. Plus, I lose more and more respect for Stephanie with every book.

Recently I read the Charley Davidson Grave series by Darynda Jones, and I saw what the Plum books could be as far as character development if Evanovich had the balls to break from a routine that’s become more about the cash than the characters.

Unfortunate animal carcasses. Other people’s unusual pain-in-the-@ss pets. Idiot skips. Grandma Mazur making a fuss at a funeral home and trying to stay young by doing something ridiculous. Lula’s stupid excuses to do stupid things, and Stephanie going...
