UMcC: An amazing book outlining the brilliant work and research of the late great Professor James Malone-Lee. He left such an amazing legacy through this work and research on how UTIs, an ever increasing and growing public health issue, should be treated and understood. A comforting read for patients suffering with this chronic condition and an essential read for any clinician who treats patients for them.

Edmund Bullingham: My wife's urology consultant knows Dr James Malone-Lee quite well. My wife has been in and out of hospital every month for over a year with repeated UTIs getting worse each time, increasing resistance to antibiotics delirium, hearing voices, hallucinations, unconsciousness, the works. A really desperate situation. The antibiotics are so strong now they are doing more harm than good, causing bowl infections to take hold.
This could not come soon enough. Indeed, she is trying Dr James Malone-Lee's new approach on our consultants recommendations immediately.

Sasha Anderson: A wonderful book written by a brilliant clinician researching chronic/embedded UTIs for decades. If you've ever been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome you must read this book. Infections may not show up on urinalysis but remains embedded in the bladder wall. Dr. Malone-Lee details his treatment approach (long-course antibiotics), summarizes his research and clinical outcomes, and calls for research investment to find better treatment options for the many women who suffer chronic UTIs and/or have been misdiagnosed with IC. So, so helpful for patients with these symptoms.

Kayli: This book is a MUST READ for all PCPs, pediatricians, urologists, and any patient who has ever been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis or painful bladder syndrome. We have to stop basing all of our urine infection screenings on dipsticks and cultures whose results are dismal at best. There is a better option for testing a treatment and the science proved that.

E. Castner: If you have ongoing UTI pain or were told you have IC, you need this book. Prof’s studies are life changing to all of us suffering from LUTS but told we don’t have a UTI. IC is over diagnosed and is a lazy diagnosis by docs who don’t want to do the work that goes into treating chronic UTI. Prof has made huge strides in this field and is changing countless lives. Must read by all urologists, Urogynos, NPs in the urologist field, pelvic floor therapists

C. Anne R.: A very well-written book, this describes how a rare expert in the field diagnoses and cures the misunderstood condition of bacterial cystitis. It is said that someone dies of a bacterial infection every 15 minutes. Those who have had one and tried to get help from doctors understand, all too well, why. Substandard culturing methods, short courses of antibiotics which don't cure but leave behind undertreated superbugs, and a general lack of understanding from the medical community are all explained with dead on accuracy in this book. A must read for any doctor treating these patients.

Tylr: This book is incredible. Sufferers of chronic/embedded uti have long tried to get clinicians to listen to them about the pitfalls of the current uti testing method and treatment that is available. But our pleas often fall on deaf ears and we can often be dismissed as suffering mentally rather than physically.
Professor Malone-Lee has a wealth of experience in this field (around 40 years!) and this book should help to enlighten other medical professionals as to his findings. The Professor follows the Science in all he does and backs up his statements with data. I truly hope this book brings about the change that is so desperately needed. I’m so confident about his work I’ve purchased two copies of this book to pass onto local medical professionals that failed to treat me correctly. Now a patient at the Harley St Clinic, I finally feel I’m on the road to recovery and I cannot thank the Professor and his team enough for that. They are the light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel for many of us.
If you are a medical professional, particularly a GP, I strongly recommend that you buy this book so that you have the necessary knowledge to understand the realities...

Kevin S. Fansler: This book deals with how chronic urinary tract infections are misdiagnosed, which leads to much pain and suffering. Chronic urinary tract infections (UTIs) and recurrent UTIs occur annually for millions of American women. Scientists developed the current UTI test in the 1950s on culturing for possible E. coli. Doctors diagnose it as a UTI if the cultured bacteria population is large enough. But in at least 25% of the tests, when the patient has an infection, the test does not show that she has a UTI. When a test shows a negative result, some providers declare that she has no UTI. Instead, she is diagnosed with an overactive bladder or interstitial cystitis and given pain pills or a bladder relaxant. However, current clinicians now have diagnostic tools that reveal that the symptomatic patient almost always has a UTI. Perhaps the clinicians are just treating the patients the way they were taught. By failing to update their diagnostic methods, millions of American women have been misdiagnosed and are now living with chronic UTIs and excruciating pain. The author discusses how his views on UTIs have evolved and how he treats chronic UTIs.
