Tedmon: Night falls quickly in the southern latitudes. If you're not careful, you might get caught out in the dark. This great little light mounts quickly and will get you back to safety.

I don't ride much in the dark. Back in the day, it didn't matter much. My eyes were still good and I thought I was invincible. Now that macular degeneration has set in and I don't heal up like I used to, I'm a little more careful. Still, there are times when it gets dark and I'm on a trail, too far from the car, or spent a little too much time wandering and need to get home. In those cases, it's good to have a light. It doesn't need to be an expensive one and it doesn't need to be permanently mounted. Also no need for it to last for multiple hours. This one ticks all the boxes. It's bright enough to show the way down the trail or the road home. Cheap enough that if something happens to it, I'm not too troubled. Small enough to easily stow away and mounts quickly enough that I don't feel the need to leave it there.The mount has an indexed swivel that helps you center the beam down the trail, a nice touch if you're OCD about where the light is pointing.

Whodat: Based on a longer period of usage and a change in mount, I am editing my review. I am impressed with their Customer Service. They read my original feedback and they sent a screw clamp mount which is similar to the mount which came with the previous version. With the screw clamp mount, the light stays securely in place.

I still wish the beam were more tightly focused. A certain amount of lateral spread is good, and I like the little side lenses, but too much of the light is still lost by shining up at a very high angle. I’m also still not a fan of the way the USB plug fits into the socket. The manufacturers say that they feel this improves the resistance to water. I still think that the build quality is quite good, and with further usage in colder weather, the battery life does seem to be pretty good. The tail light that comes with this light also seems pretty good.

In my initial review, I said that I would give the light itself a rating of three stars. One could probably argue that if one factors in value for money, as long as you have the screw clamp mount, you could make this four stars. Paul DottererPaul Dotterer: Edit (6/10/2020): New light came in quick! Came in early this morning and was partially charged, I was able to test it and it works amazingly!! It's hard to tell with the tail light but it's illuminating my cat easily (I'm sorry to have to use you as a blank canvas Gizmo but thank you for bearing with me waking you up! D: ) And the headlight, which worked flawlessly, illuminated the ENTIRE ROOM. Now i need to preface this! **both of those images were taken in the same lit room!!! My phone has a darkening protocol to stop light from flooding an image, and it had to darken the image so much it looks like it's night time!! That is one AWESOME headlight!

I've already put the non-slip mount onto my bike, it's snug and doesn't show signs of any kind of give when i move it. (i sort of wish it had a small divot under the rails to slip the extra bit of pull-tab but that's okay!)

Based on first-impressions of the light functioning as it should? I would happily suggest this light!
