J and K: My husband and I both have these on our bikes and turn them on whenever we ride. We don't ride when it is dark, but these lights allow others to see us on roads or paths easily and makes us feel very safe. The lights can be solid or flashing. We always put them in flashing mode as it brings attention to others.

Tpilcher: Overall, I like these lights. Maybe not the best quality but they do illuminate your position which is exactly why I purchased them. I have been recharging them once a week which would be about seven hours use and that has been working well.

NancyNancy: These work amazing. I had a tiny issue but not with this order. I have bought these lights previously and they used a USB-C cable which eventually caused my rear light to stop working after a year or so I got these and to replace it and they work great still. Hold a long charge and quite bright. Not to mention they’re pretty decently priced. They’re very easy to use/install and backups of everything basically!

Also the previous light that uses a USB-C cable STILL works it was just my rear red light that had an issue and these have worked great on both of my bicycles, both are a Mountain and a Road bike.

buckeye1959buckeye1959: UPDATE (01/03/2023): I recently purchased a 600 lumen bike light for nighttime riding and can report, with certainty, that the Akale 3-LED front bike light does not provide sufficient illumination for nighttime riding. The difference between 80 lumens and 600 lumens is, literally, night and day. Upon switching to the Akale 80 lumen front light after riding a couple hundred yards with a 600 lumen light, it seemed like I was riding in the dark.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The Akale 3-LED rechargeable bike lights are decent daytime running lights that make a cyclist more visible to motorists, pedestrians and other cyclists while riding in daylight, especially in flash mode. In my opinion, however, the headlight is not nearly bright enough to use as a nighttime riding light in poorly lit to unlit areas, and is only marginally sufficient for nighttime riding in well-lit areas.

Based on my research of bike lights, it is my understanding that for use while riding at night in well-lit areas a bike headlight should emit 100 - 200 lumens. In poorly lit to unlit areas, a bike headlight should emit 400 - 800 lumens. For riding on mountain bike trails at night, you should be looking at...
