HikingViking: Easy to decipher the location of the connections. In my instance there were no additional connections or adapters needed.

A. Thomas Kissel: I had debated several months between buying this board (possibly not fixing the problem) or a new furnace (BIG wallet dent, but no more problem.) Then I read a review by Russ Taylor in Texas, and he had the exact same furnace and symptoms - SOLD!
Read the instructions 3 or 4 times while looking at the old and new cards. Do one wire at a time. I started with the bottom terminals first, seemed easier with the Gordian knot of wires I had. On the old card, there are 4 "neutral" connections in a row; on the new card, they are in a square, 2 by 2 configuration. Since they are neutral, it doesn't matter what goes where. Everything else DOES matter. Once it was back together, it started working like new. Maybe I'll get another 26 years out of it.

Cheryl H.: First of all ICM Controls are made in the USA and their manufacturing facility is modern with good quality control. I had the Goodman OEM B18099-13 control board for a GMT 090-A gas furnace, so on the directions I did not use the 9 pin plug included, but used the existing plug. Also, I used the existing White, Green and Red thermostat "pigtails" since mine were in good condition.

Tip: I removed the White, Green and Red thermostat connections first and then pulled the 9 pin plug. Then, I removed the old control board. Tip: if you take an old style Bic ball point pen and remove the guts you can use the barrel of the pen and press it over and down on the plastic standoffs which hold the board in place and you can then slip the board off. Then, I just removed the remaining wires (one by one) and plugged into the terminals on the new board. They match exactly. Note: the terminal marked EAC is and electronic air cleaner and the one marked HUM is a humidifier and these are covered with plastic slips because most people do not have these. I left the Blower Delay at 150 seconds which is the factory setting.

Jeffrey T. Hancock: This is a fine replacement for a B18099-10. While it's not the exact same board, it works perfectly, and the directions are thorough. As one other reviewer said, don't worry about the square white connector on this new board. The plug into it is included and easy to wire into the thermostat connections. You just have to do a few wire nuts. All covered by the instructions. One thing to be aware of when you are done and fire it back up is that there may be a delay of around 5 to 10 seconds before anything happens, whereas with the old board, mine at least, the draft inducing blower would come on immediately. So I thought the replacement was a failure and was just sitting there pondering what I could have done wrong when it started going. It's been working perfectly since. The problem I was trying to fix was intermittent, where the furnace would fire up, then sometimes shut back down for no apparent reason. I tried a new flame sensor, among other things, but it still kept being flaky. One other suggestion I would make is to move one wire at a time from the old board to the new, rather than disconnecting them all from the old board then connecting them up to the new. Seems way easier...

Javaman: I purchased this as a replacement control module for a Goodman 100-4 furnace. After being careful in the installation, we found that the exhaust blower began to run! We thought that was great news. However, the igniter never lit off! I took some voltage readings on the igniter hot side on the unit and there was nothing! At this point, after about 2 hours of being very careful to install this, checking and double checking the connections, we gave up!

We called a furnace repair person out and the first thing he told us was that the control module was either 1) Shipped damaged or 2) We caused the damage. I'm not so sure we caused it being as careful as we were; however, it is possible. On the other hand it is just as possible that the unit itself was defective too. So, we were out double plus the cost of the furnace repair man's visit!

UPDATE 1/8/2013...
My prior rating of 2 was unfair. Reason: We found out after having the other furnace professional attempt to fix same furnace that most likely a lighting strike earlier in the summer had blown out more than just the controller. He too put on a new control module and could not get furnace to work. He then traced it...
