Aehako knows that Kira is the one for him....even though they have not resonated. She keeps rejecting him and he can't understand why. He is good looking, strong, and could make her happy. He just knows it! What is going on?!

Avidreadersbc: I have been loving re-reading all the IPB books and since it's been a while, I feel like I am reading all the books for the first time again. Loved Aehako and Kira's story. Can't wait to read Harlow's book next.

Dorislynn Quinones: This book was interesting and still kind of a bit of a fanfic vibe, but I can see the writing getting more variable and entertaining. I do appreciate the world building and the widening of the community and the setup for the rest of the series.

Shelbe Heckman: Idk what it is about these seven feet tall, blue alien romance novels that makes me all giggly and helps cure a reading slump, but I hope I never get tired of them.

These two are absolutely adorable together, and as much as I love a grumpy MMC every once in awhile I need a sunshine, cinnamon roll MMC to even the scales for me. I read this one in a single day (no surprise for me there tbh) & am absolutely thrilled they were able to get their HEA.

⚠️As a warning this book does deal heavily with the fear of infertility, and some small OW drama (which is quickly shut down by both the MMC & FMC the moment it happens).

LacrYmosa Wolf: Holy smokes Batman but this book was frigging good! I loved everything about it, the complex relationship between Aehako and Kira, the looming threat and the funny moments. Also like the sneak peaks of other potential couples.

Character breakdown;

Kira: I never really got much of a feel for her but the way she described herself as a “den mother” was not accurate at all. I did enjoyed her development as a character and how she went from being thoroughly afraid (rightfully so) to becoming a little braver and more confident in herself. She was a great character to read.

Aehako: I honestly loved this dude from the previous books. He seemed like someone who just loved to make everyone smile and joke around if it meant you would be happy. I loved how he saw Kira and his friend Haeden, his loyalty to his family and the persistence he had to put up with Asha. I absolutely enjoyed reading his development throughout the book too.

Favorite quote: “My home is wherever you are,” Aehako tells me. I touch his face gently. “I feel the same way.”

I absolutely cannot wait for Harlows book and wonder who her mate is!?! Like I was left wondering! As for...

Power Librarian: This is quite possibly the best so far in the series! Unlike the first two books, Aehako doesn’t doesn’t immediately “resonate” with Kira (telling him she’s his mate), but he falls in love with her pretty darn quickly. There’s some angst to the story. Kira is shy and doesn’t want to be hurt. She knows that Aehako won’t ever resonate with her, because she’s sterile. She doesn’t want to fall in love and then lose him, should he eventually “resonate” with someone else. So, she pushes him away.
Meanwhile, she’s the one of the humans who received a painful implantation in her ear, and she realizes that the evil aliens that abducted them in the beginning of the first book are coming back… and she’s the only one who can protect the sa-khui and humans from these monsters.
This book has so much suspense and drama. Aehako is absolutely ADORABLE and sweet and charming and he’s obsessed with Kira in the sweetest way possible. I loved the alien technologies that are introduced in this book, making it a little heavier on the sci fi and worldbuilding than the previous two books, and it all perfectly complements the romance plotline. ‘Barbarian lover’ is a third book in series and I’m so in love with this story. I felt like I’m connected with emotions our characters had.
We have Kira (FMC) who plans to spend her whole life alone cause happy things are simply not happening in her life. She is so doubtful that her khui will ever resonance with anyone and especially with Aehako, so why to start something with him if their time is limited?
Arhako (MMC) is funny, flirty and handsome. And he wants Kira but not only in physical manner but he wants to make her smile and chase her worries away. Sounds super nice, but Kira’s fears are strong.
When there is a sudden danger and she must move away from caves in order to save everyone, guess what? Arhako decided to join her and save the day. Yay!
Cute emotional and warm story.
And you have no idea how excited i am for the next book. I need to learn what’s going on with other girls.

Katie: The story is really good and I’d enjoy reading it again. The only thing that bothered me was the amount of times differences were mentioned. It seems like it’s a lot more in this book. I also didn’t like the random ‘oh it’s hard to be me’s’ added in but that’s probably more a personal preference. Overall it’s probably 4.5 🌟

Aehako wants to make ‘sad eyes’ happy. He will do anything - including Liz’s suggestion.

Poor Kira is embarrassed by the gift Aehako gives her as a courting present - why can’t he just leave her alone. They aren’t resonating, that should be the end of it. But he’s charming and sweet. He cares. But she can’t be with him, she can’t be with anyone and when they find out why, will they let her stay?

None of it matters though because the kidnappers are on their way back to collect all the tech they left on the planet when they dumped their cargo, and Kira? She has this annoying painful translator surgically implanted. They will find her and if she’s still here in the caves, they’ll find them too. Her only option is to try to distance herself.

Will Aehako wear her down? Will Kira...
