Mustapha: The best one on the market at the moment for advanced calculus. Better than the TI nspire cxii cas or any Casio. As student, I used TI92 plus for many years at university (more than a decade ago). After several reviews, I decided to buy this model as I like doing math during my free time. No regret at all. Math functions, CPU speed, touch screen, easy access to functions... a lot of features that makes it better to the TI nspire cx ii. Don't underestimate the importance of cpu speed. Those who are familiar with TI, know that we can wait a long time to get some results or to plots functions on TI calculator.

Preston StormerPreston Stormer:
I am in college for engineering and needed a calculator for complex math and calculus. So far I only used some basic functions like the linear equation solver and the graphing function. I also tried CAS mode but found it easier to plot my function and find the intercepts on the graph. It's nice that the screen is a touch screen and the processor keeps up when you pan and pinch to zoom in and out of the graph view. This is a really powerful tool. It's like basically having a baby version of Matlab or Wolfram Mathmatica on you at all times.
My professor even complimented me on my calculator. All the other students in my class have either the ancient Ti-84 or Ti-83 with the black and white screen and AAA batteries or the Ti-84 plus ce with color screen and rechargable battery in compact size and the HP Prime helps me to stand out from the crowd and gives me capabilities on par with some of my computational computer programs.
I also have some experience with the Ti-Nspire which is one of the comparable models from a competing calculator company. I'd say the Prime is alot easier to use than the Nspire becasue of stuff like the touch screen, the better...

pimpampumx: Still adapting after many years as a TI user. The APPS are very useful and programming is not very complicated. Touch screen is useful but viewing angle (in dark mode) is limited and have to work directly above the screen. Over all a good graphic calculator.

William F. Mcgrath:
I've owned HP calculators since the early 1970s, starting with an HP-55, then an HP-28C, followed by an HP-28S. Loved them all. The Prime is by far the best of the lot. Not only is there are large, easily readable touch screen, but the built-in functionality is amazing.
I bought the HP Prime and a TI Nspire CX II CAS at the same time so I could do a hands-on comparison. They share many of the same features, but the HP is SO much easier to use and so much faster! The documentation for the HP is far superior, although its 700+ pages makes it a bit of a slog if you choose to wade through it. If you're not so inclined, there is the shorter quick-start guide, but it leave out a lot of detail. Build quality is much better on the HP; the TI seemed like a plastic toy in comparison. The tactile feedback of the buttons is clear and unmistakable.
I'm an electrical engineer by training, so I've had four years of applied math at the university level. I can't think of a single problem that the HP won't handle with ease. The ability to move the screen around with your finger tips saves so much time. The ability to work in the complex number plane is a necessity...
