Household Essentials 3-Piece Clothesline Post for Retractable 15 x 7-Inch Dryer

Lefty: The media could not be loaded.  I dug the hole a bit two deep and wide as well, which was okay. I used 3 bags of Quikset fast drying cement which was great because I could use the line the next day. I had my own thoughts as to how to attach the Whitmor 5 line retractable clothesline which works very well. The line will lower due the the weight of items you place on the line. The line is a gray plastic line.

Kim Lutz: My 5 line retractable clothes line when pulled out got anchored to a tree as the pole. We had the tree cut down so I needed and actual pole to support the clothes line. It is beyond my expectations. My husband cemented in the base because we have thick shale and very little soil. The pole is very easy to put together and is super sturdy. It's a great product

Nad Lew: So I live in Jamaica and we are accustomed to having a traditional backyard clothesline with posts at both ends. We decided to buy a retractable clothesline because we entertain a lot in our back yard and each time we would have to take down the lines (a bugger task for my son and husband) and the posts would still be left standing (not so good for my guests). Our fence would not have been high enough for the receiving bracket of the clothesline so we had to buy the post too. The first time we installed it, it collapsed albeit with a full load of clothes on line!. No fault of the manufacturer as my son did not follow the instructions properly. Having learned from the mistake we installed it again. We also realized that it had to be installed near a wall or fence as it would not remain standing without some form of brace. We have actually bought a bracket to brace the lower pole against the fence to keep it firmly in place. It works well with the Household Essentials 5-Line Retractable Clothesline. Right now my only problem is that the poles do not snap into place (not sure if its suppose to) but this causes the 'T' to start turning in the opposite direction when hanging clothes....

joyce slezak: I owned one of these retractable clotheslines when we lived in Oxford CT. I used it for at least 15-20 years. I decided to save a lot of money again by hanging out my clothes at our home in FL. The clothes dry within 2 hours or less here in the sunny south. So, for those people who live in FL, in a deed restricted community like we do, Florida statute 163.04 states briefly in part: "A deed restriction, . . . or similar binding agreement may not prohibit or have the effect of prohibiting. . . clotheslines, or other energy devices based on renewable resources from being installed on buildings, erected on the lots or parcels covered by the deed restriction. . ."
SO START SAVING MONEY - but be respectful of others in your close environment by not leaving your clothes hanging out all day.

ambecee1: Make sure to read the description completely. This is only the pole. The top bracket on the pole is not even included. I bought this for my parents to replace their pole as it had rusted out on the bottom after a decade or so. After arriving, my father (I live several states away) tried to attach the old bracket to it, but they changed the design and the holes didn't line up. I ended up having to buy the clothesline piece as well. Four stars for being the pole that it says it was going to be. Minus one for changing the hole pattern.
