Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: Everyone talks about sliding this thing on. I tried this by myself; I don't have any help. It didn't take very long for me to see it was fruitless. The track on my Overhead insulated door is an L-shape piece with the track built into the bottom. I found that I could work the P-bulb into that slot with a flat-head screwdriver. Not saying it was easy or fast, but it did make it a one-man job. The material is tough. It could take the prying/pushing with the screwdriver, no problem. Stronger than rubber, yet still flexible. No matter your method of install, you're better off using the seal as it comes: rolled up flat with the P-bulb sticking up. Per another reviewer, I laid mine out on the hot driveway and it became very flexible(part of the difficulty). You still need to lube up the track with white lithium grease. I had no trouble sliding the seal around once it was in(go figure). My old one slid out pretty easily too as is.

Cheryl: It was a pain to install but it’s not the product’s fault except there were NO instructions to help us figure out what to do. We had to search it up everywhere which was difficult because directions were not anywhere. We finally problem solved it ourselves. The original one was clamped down tight so we had to pry it open across the entire piece to get the old one out. Putting this one in was tricky. You have to slide it, making sure it stays inside the track the entire length or you have to start over. Now that it’s installed, it’s great.

JoJack: I removed the retainer from the garage door and cleaned it and the tract. It fits perfect, and it was reasonably priced. I’m a 67 year old lady and it was fairly easy to install. Put a bit of dish detergent on the new seal or tract, or both and the installation will go smooth. You might need a second pair of hand to help guide the new seal in the tract. Crimp the ends slightly once it’s installed, so the new seal won’t move. The hardest part was removing the old rotten seal.

ÉlanÉlan: i'm deeply disappointed, the old weather seal was so tough it felt like a full bicycle tire. This new one that I bought fit like a flat mushy pancake. unacceptable.
