Truck454Truck454: I installed one of these in 2020 on my garage door #1, and it has done well. Ordered another and installed it on door #2. The aluminum rails are easy to align and fit well. The seal is robust. (For ease of installation, spray the seal with soapy water. This will allow the seal to slide into the rail.) The delivery I received this time had been returned by another customer who cut one of the aluminum rails and used almost half of the screws to (I assume) install the rails, but then retuned the package. There were enough uncut rails to cover the width of my garage door, but I wound up using my own screws. I'm happy with the product, but the seller should not have sold this to me, since it was used and partially damaged by another buyer.

Tom G.: High quality, heavy duty rubber, looks and works good when completed. The aluminum track comes in 5 pieces for a 16' door. You must align the pieces very carfully when screwing them to the bottom of the door so that the rubber slides in smoothly. I did it myself but it would go much easier with a helper. Also, use two drills, one with your drill bit and one with your Phillips bit. I found the best way to align them was to drill out the pre-drilled holes to a larger size to allow movement of the piece. You will need a hacksaw or power chop saw to trim the aluminum when you get to edge(s) of the door. I started in the middle and worked outward and trimmed each end with my chop saw with a carbide toothed bladed. You will want to lubricate the track with WD-40 or equivalent and get a helper to pull while you feed the rubber into the track and push. Also, the screws are junk as the heads strip easily using a drill. The bit simply didn't match the angle of the screw head. Get some #6 1-1/2" drywall or general construction screws instead.

Mark MC: I read all the reviews saying to use soapy water to get this thing on. That is definitely true but even with soapy water I couldn't push/pull both channels at the same time because my side wheel track was in the way at all door heights and that caused at least one of the channels to pop out while I was trying to slide everything together. That combined with the weight of the un-tracked rubber trying to pull itself down was frustrating me. So I soaped up just 1 channel inside the metal track and slid the rubber easily all the way through. Then I soaped up the actual rubber "T" for the other channel, pushed the inside blade of the rubber "T" into the metal track maybe 6" at a time, and took a large flathead screwdriver and slid and poked up with it on the outside of the "T" into the metal track. This worked really well and I did the whole 8' door in a few minutes. I can't imagine when the wheel track would not be in the way, even at the top corner when the bottom of the door juts out from the wheel track but even then it would be up high and awkward to work with. The way I did it I could position the bottom of the door at the most comfortable working height for me and I think this...

S4 SOMS4 SOM: Finished installing my new garage door seal, it looks great, seals perfectly. I installed it myself, nobody helped me. First I fit the seal retainer one by one using blue tape. The last one I had to cut a few inches, I used my grinder, an hacksaw would do too. Previously I left the rubber seal outside on my driveway so the sun made it more malleable. Then I remember that peoples complained about being difficult to slide the rubber all the way, specially if you're alone. No problem, I made a solution of dish soap and water into a spray bottle. I sprayed generously the whole track and inside the rubber as I fed it on the track. It went smoothly all the way, just the last foot I had to go to the end of the rubber and pull it a few inches at a time, then go back to the beggining and spray some more soapy solution and along the whole rubber one more time. I cut both end and tucked about 2 inches inside both ends. I would recommend it to anybody wanting to replace their worn garage door bottom seal.

George K. Foster: This turned out to be exactly what I needed, creating a seal across the bottom of my wooden garage door where mice were sneaking in. Most importantly, because of the flexible rubber material it was able to account for the varying size of the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, leaving no daylight. I was very nearly deterred from buying the product by another reviewer who claimed that it did not work for him and his "garage door guy" told him that this product is not meant for wooden doors, but it worked perfectly for mine.

My only caveat about this product is that anyone purchasing it will need some means to cut the thick metal track to size -- something that is not mentioned directly in the description of the product or in the video on Amazon, which explains how to install. I happen to have a saw that was able to do the job with some effort, but not everyone does. The track comes in five pieces, each 40 inches long. If you do the math that works out to 16-2/3 feet, not the 16 feet stated repeatedly in the ad. (In fairness, the product description discloses that the customer "will receive a 16 foot kit of aluminum with 5 each at 40 inches." When I read that I...
