Eapele 20ft Weatherproof Garage Door Threshold Seal Strip - Easy to Cut Replacement

chrischris: I purchased for a different reason, my garage floor is offset(+1/2") to the driveway. The problem is, during the winter days thaw/freeze overnight, the garage door bottom seal gets frozen to the ground, and the gdo will not open it up, in the am. Using a mattock, prying up on the bottom support brace, in multiple spots, eventually pops it loose, and it opens. This 20ft roll has plenty extra, I cut +4" to my opening, and notched around the jamb and track to extend to the inside of the track. Cuts/notches easy with a utility knife. After fitting into place & ADJUSTING door travel(gdo would close and open with this in place) I cleaned surface and used 2 tubes of adhesive, pushed into place and closed the door. My bottom door seal and this threshold seal are airtight and will not stick together in the winter. The bonus extra 44" I will cut/secure to the garage entry door threshold. Highly recommended.

Oldduke07: Good instructions! Follow it the instructions made installation simple and fairly easy. Had a heavy rain and the thresholds stop all the water. Also, no more leaves blowing under the flimsy roll up door bottom seals.

donosan: The Eapele 10ft Garage Door Threshold Seal works well. Construction adhesive was used to glue the threshold to concrete and it seems to work well. The seal is made of what seems to be a rubberlike material and is very flexible. It does retain some memory on the tight end where is was rolled up. You will have to put some weights on the end or leave it out in the sun to relax the end so it doesn't try to roll up and leave a gap.

It is well made and easy to cut with a razor knife or scissors. It's a little bit of a pain to get it laid straight, but just lay it out after cutting to length where you think it needs to go, release the garage door from the opener, lower the door onto the threshold, and adjust as needed. I placed the ridged side inside and the yellow line just visible from from the interior. I then raised the door and drew pencil lines along each edge, moved the seal and run three beads of construction adhesive, one along each edge about 1/2" inside the lines and one down the middle.

This is the second threshold I've ordered. The other was more expensive, but this one seems to be made the same. I used the same construction adhesive on the other 2 years ago...

Yes, you can cut this with scissors, and a STRONG hand! when you get to the thickest part of the rubber it's a little slow going. They say lay 2 beads of adhesive just inside the lines and a third in the middle. Sure, if you don't mind adhesive oozing out everywhere and making a mess. Don't lay the adhesive down too thick. Thin beads will do ya, and stay well inside your lines. To line it up for the best seal, place it just inside the garage door with the thin flat (smooth) rubber going under the door. Close the garage door and gently kick it under so it buts up tight to the door, Then mark your lines. You'll need to trim to fit against the wall inside while the tin rubber is against or near the outside wall. I used Liquid Nails Fuze-it All Surface as it's one of the few that says it bonds rubber and cement. Be careful. This stuff is THICK, messy, and takes 24 hours to dry. You'll need to give it time. If you make a mess, well, you're gonna have a mess. Soap and water have no effect. But this is supposed to be a review of the seal, not the adhesive I used. There is no more light shining through...
