Sidney Burton: I expect this will last a long time, as long as the coating doesn't degrade in the sun. If you have chemical sensitivities, be aware that the smell is VERY strong. Even working outdoors with it, the smell was awful. I recommend using gloves to handle it. Restringing an umbrella clothesline isn't for the faint of heart (or the short of patience!), but I got it done. I should have gotten the 200 foot instead of 100 foot for my 11-strand umbrella unit, but this will do for now.

ATechGuy: I was surprised at how thick the coating is on this clothesline. The cable is also thicker than what I'm used to, and I actually prefer it this way as my device that I use to connect the two ends relies on having the cable about this thickness instead of the thinner versions you can find online elsewhere. The gold color is kind of nice, but really didn't matter to me. I had the "blue" (thinner version) before and it lasted only two years. We live near the ocean and once they get any salty air, they start to corrode quickly. So far this one is doing very well. I can recommend this product.

Just heads up for future customers: to cut conveniently out this stainless steel material, you might need special stainless steel cutter which could cut up to 5/32” of the diameter of the stainless steel line (on Amazon, there are such cutters starting from $9.99).
