Lizzie: This plan is great so long as you can give up Sugar, Alcohol and Caffeine. If you try this out, I recommend typing out all your fave veggies, meats, fruits and portions for each phase and putting on your fridge... then it is pretty simple...
I could have photocopied it, but I wanted this plan to cover only 2 pages.
The recipes are a little too hard to follow (on planning/getting ingredients) but some are delicious...if you are not a natural cook then you may want to use them. I lost 5 lbs in a week.

Amazon Customer: I have been doing this program for 4 months and have lost 20 lbs. She says you should lose 12 in one month but then it slows down. This is the best I have done ever! It makes sense, and it is structured. The protein days are hard, but if you can make it through you will see results. There are a few things I won't give up - coffee and after a month I added a banana back in (but not on protein days) I had a couple of breaks for holidays, but was surprised that I would only gain a couple of pounds and it would be off by the next week. I had bought the original book and then decided I needed more recipes. You can pretty much get what you need out of the cookbook, but if you want the background on the way of the program get the original book as well.

Amazon Customer: i love this diet, it really helped me change my life, it is simple clear and very informative. i lost 12 KG in two and a half months!! but i still need to loose another 15. Don't worry if the weight loss starts slow. It took me the first month to really get use to the rhythm of the cycles. In the first week i lost nothing, which created a lot of doubts, however when i continued i was losing 1-2 kilos a week. You never feel hungry, sometimes you feel like you ate too much; and the science behind it is amazing and very true (i did my own research to double check it). Every persons body will react differently to this diet. I have a friend who did the diet with me and only lost 9 kilos in the same amount of time, you will need to remember to just continue pushing and not to give up, because weight loss is not only a physical change but a mental change too. The recipes are delicious but don't need to always be followed down to the grain of salt, you can use them as a guideline to help you be more creative with your food.

Mamamia: Well I wrote about a month ago that I will update my review once I have started this diet. Today is the end of our 2nd week of doing this diet. Both my husband & I are on this diet - he has 70 pounds to lose & myself 30. It is a lot of work (the cooking) and you spend a lot on groceries because she wants you to use organic where possible and you have to buy stuff that are soy free and sugar free etc etc. Its a good thing that I am a home-maker. If I was a working person, I'd probably give up due to the amount of cooking. But on the good side after 14 days of doing this diet my husband has lost 13 pounds. I lost only 4 pounds only. It's strange, I do phase specific workouts 5 times a week at the gym whereas my husband only does walking !! I think this has something to do with my hypothyroidism condition. We have lost inches too and my headaches are gone. All in all it's a good diet book but in the initial part you have to do a lot of reading. Worth to buy this book.

Deana R Smiel: I used this book to keep up with the fast metabolism diet. It has everything you need to handle the diet, although it's best if you read the book first to get why you're putting yourself through all of it. I made it through 28 days although not perfectly. I went back and forth through the book to make sure I was having the right meal, even though I mapped out the whole month ahead of time. You'll never memorize all the rules, and lists. The two days of no fat, no carb is easy enough, but you have to still look at the allowed foods lists. All is included. Now as for the recipes, they are all I used the whole time. There is a chicken soup that is now a staple in our home. Everyone loves it, even the 1 year old. It calls for barley and I used wild rice instead. Sometimes I didn't have enough sweet potatoes so I used more carrots. It makes a lot, and I make it in the pressure cooker. So good! This book has remained on my kitchen counter since I got it, and I hope to make many more of the recipes. Haylie has a newsletter that also has great recipes. The only problem I have with this program is the grains/gluten. I've been off them for so long that my body can not digest them at all. I...

KamaYama: First off, let me start by saying that I normally don't post too many reviews about the products I order. Not because I like or dislike the product (unless I get absolutely shoddy customer service, but that has not been the case with the majority of items I have purchased). I wasn't paid to review this product or try the diet, nor do I know anyone who is affiliated with the company. I'm simply just a chubby woman who was looking for a reasonable, realistic diet to shed some unwanted pounds. I bought the book along with the cookbook (and have subsequently ordered other "Fast Metabolism" cookbooks from other vendors- some good, some not so good).
The book is a quick and easy read and despite knowing quite a bit about nutrition, contained some good information that was useful to me. There are a couple of inconsistencies with portions and food lists, but you do have to implement SOME common sense in its use! The additional cookbook is handy because it gives you a lot of other meal ideas so you dont geel like you are stuck eating the same types of things over and over again.
