Ian Dunn: Just self-learning the acoustic guitar and this book is helping on my journey. Would highly recommend.

MMYoung: If you're a beginner guitar player, like me, this book is invaluable. The author explains all the "minutia" in a way that someone who has little, to no, experience with music can understand. Explaining, not just the how to, but the why you do the exercises in the book. The only thing I wish I had done was spring for the spiral bound book. The extra cash would be worth it.

David R Van Bibber: I purchased this book in hopes that I would find some easy songs to teach my students. I found that this wasn’t what I was looking for so I returned it. Great book for students learning scales!

RThomas: My child is a beginner and this helps her supplement practice time without the teacher. Just started the book and excited about the progression. Lots to learn.

Amazon Kunde: I loved it! It truly starts with the very basics and leads you to pretty tough stuff towards the end. Let‘s see if I can keep up with 1 exercise a day for 100 days, that would be amazing!!

Leigh: I saw some reviews saying that this may not be for complete beginners. That is somewhat true and hence why this book gets four and not five stars.
I’m not a complete beginner, I’ve been playing on and off for almost half my life, and so I thought the book was in fact much easier than it actually is. The first 10 exercises will make some people want to give up and never look at this book again. I like that it is deceptively simple.
‘Ten minutes a day’ is a bit misleading. If you do only ONE of these exercises for ten minutes a day you may find yourself getting bored with this book. It will also take you such a long time to ever finish the book that way.
When I found myself getting bored, I decided to maximize the ‘10 minute’ concept.
Use a metronome from the beginning of the book. Start at 60, even 40 if you need to. Set a goal BPM (I play piano so I picked 120). Stack exercises—play exercises 4, 5 and 6; for example, EACH for 10 minutes. Track your progress. I’ve been doing this for two months and have made tremendous progress. Once I reach my goal BPM on an exercise, I move on to the next one.
I really like this book. Out of all...

andyb: For exercises this is the book for all abilities. Nice warm up exercises and uses lots of positions on the fretboard. Not just straight in with really hard runs, gradual build up . I'm a musician for almost my entire life and guitar since I was 8 and wanted to learn more about the higher positions. This should be where we start learning.
